My favourite type of fishing is lure fishing for bass off the inflatable boats (sibs), they are perfect. They are super quick to set up, they are fast, and can go in such shallow water, it's amazing! Inflatable boat fishing is becoming more and more popular as people realise you do not need an expensive boat to reach the marks out at sea. You can buy a setup for around £2000-£3500 and this will do you fine.
I love going beach fishing, shore fishing but nothing beats boat fishing on these inflatable boats. You can find the fish a lot easier, they are fast and most importantly much more fun!
If you like the video please subscribe to Southys Fishing this will really help me out, also please check out my other videos, these mainly focus on "Inflatable Boat Fishing".

Just got one today You can undo the bottom cap and wind the nut out slightly and it make it even softer drag

Nice mate! I actually prefer the spinfisher to the slammer, I have both too. The slammer looks nicer but the drag seems to be much much stronger which isn't always better!

You buy reels like me. I got at least two I bought last summer I haven’t used yet. Just recently got a Lexa 300 too, which I’ll be using over Memorial Day weekend heh

The shimano's are smoother, and the thunnus is a beautiful baitrunner reel - but the Penn spinfishers are solid and can take a decent knock, get water over them etc and they are fine. In my experience anyway.

Exactly that. They are the tanks of the reel world.

If I know my reel is not going to get dunked I use shimano

I wish they did these in the 5500 size. For general fishing I think the 4500 is a bit small and the 6500 a bit too big. Great reels though.

Yeah I didn't realise they didn't do a 5500 for Live Liner.

I agree, there is quite a size difference between 4500 & 6500. Something in between would be nice.

Ben, I have Penn Affinity 7000 Liveliners that I use for both carp fishing & beach casting, the line lay is fantastic, and I use Shimano Medium Baitrunners on Wolf 10ft X1's for SIB use. There is no real difference in the smoothness of each reel. The Penn's have better line lay tho. The free spool facility for live-baiting is a great feature. Penn have really (pardon the pun) stepped up their game this year and are pushing Gomexus handles, which I recommend too. Now they are a game changer having bearings in the knob.

Yeah I really like those handles! I am really chuffed with the reel Rob! Thanks for watching.

I have have a Penn 6500 Live Liner reel as well & having the 4 lever settings is really good to have especially if you have a really big fish on No 1 setting & taking out a lot of line & you can set No 2 & still not slowing the fish down you can set it on No3 setting & if the line is still going quite fast go onto No 4 & that will slow the fish down & still be able to take line out but not as fast & the beauty of the 6500 & also the Penn 8500 Live Liner Fishing reels have a safety feature as you open up the bail arm to cast your line & it doesn't matter how strong you cast your line out & even if the handle on the reel should turn around it will not slam the bail arm over to break your line off it is designed not to come over & you just flick it over after you have cast the line & I have had really bad luck with other fishing reels like for instance Okuma & Ryobi Fishing Reels on my surf casting rod & this was before I got a 2015 6.20 Fiberglass Cabin boat with a 2014 F150 Yamaha 4 Stroke outboard motor & on the fishing reel I have 20 lb main line & 2 rod lengths of 50 lb shock leader 5 once sìnker & 2 x 7 /0 hooks with big baits & a lot of times when I do the big cast with the 12 foot casting rod apparently the handle on the reel would turn around & slam the bail arm over & snap the line & lose my shock leader & hooks & 5 once sinker & I was pissed off & now with the new Penn 6500 Live Liner reel & put that fishing reel on a surf casting rod I would not have any more problems of the handle turning around on the big cast & the bail coming over & breaking the line & the designed not to come over & it doesn't matter how many times you turn the handle on the Penn 6500 Live Liner Fishing Reels & the Penn 8500 Live Liner Fishing Reels & you flick the bail over on these fishing reels & turn the handle so many times on these fishing reels the bail arm will not slam over it Designed NOT TO SLAM OVER & THAT IS THE SAFETY FEATURE ON THESE PENN 6500 LL & the 8500 LL & I will tell you something one day I went to another fishing place to surf cast & I fished for awhile & decided to do a big cast & that was a big mistake on my part the bail arm slammed over breaking the line on the Okuma fishing reel & the 5 once sinker went flying ing in the air along the beach & there were people there & I ran up to the people that were there & I was shit lucky that 5 once sink didn't hit anyone & it was close of hitting someone & I apologized to that person & told that person what had happened & got back to my fishing gear & packed it all up & put in it in the vehicle & went home & I wish that these Penn Live Liner Fishing Reels were made years ago & wouldn't have had this problem Kind Regards Peter

Do you wish you would have got the regular reel instead of the live liner? It seems like alot of people are having problems with the live liner being too tight, not being able to loosen it enough.
@SouthysFishing

I have the regular reel too but no, for my use which is shark fishing it is perfect I’ve had no issues.

@@SouthysFishing why do people say the drag is too tight on the live liners lowest setting? Is a way to adjust it?

so you basically have to do some minor disassembly to adjust the free-spool tension? I might just stick with a regular spinning reel...
@SouthysFishing
@SouthysFishing Жыл бұрын
No you do not 'have' to. If you want to you can or you can just use the factory settings that are already set. This is also not really a spinning reel 😂

Not at all. Just take off the bottom cap and and adust the screw with the tool provided, to adjust the liveliner drag

The old rear drag knob of the series V was 10x better. I have the V 6500LL and I wouldn’t trade it for 5 of the series VI or later. The new bait drag system is trash.

My Slammer is just as smooth as a Shimano. Not out of the box, no. But I apply my secret sauce… Marine grade gear lube picked up from Walmart 😂 It’s like $4.58 USD for a large tube, and it works wonderfully!!! I actually use it on both the gears and bearings. Smooooth as butter now.
