I’ve always thought it’s a perfectly sized cabin with that addition. On or off grid. Tendencies to go bigger are understandable but it seems it’s mostly unused space and more area to heat all winter. Excited to follow this new project with your neighbor for sure. Take care Jonathan

Our sink set-up oin N Michigsaan is very similar and been working fine for 25 years! Same 7 gallon blue Reliance 'cube' jug hangi9ng over edge of sink and a 5 gallon Home Depot bucket underneath. We just make emptying the bucket part ofr the morning wake-up ritual and it hasn't overflowed in about 15 years. Simple living...

Wow that’s an amazing cabin and location too but I love mine too lol I worked hard for years for the Lazy Bear cabin in the GA . mountains and me and the grand boys love it the bears are everywhere they don’t bother us and we don’t bother them the cubs are so beautiful watching them roll around and play too but yes you’re cabin is awesome bud !

The first bend in the stove pipe will generate a little extra unused heat. A fan ceiling fan would be a great idea there.

Great cabin! Where do you store your food? You have solar power but no fridge of freezer. Living off grid all year round you need food storage. I am new to all this and getting ideas to move out of an urban environment.

No mouse problems at all so far. And floor is OK in the winter. I've got 2" foam under the floor and stove heard it up pretty well. But it takes awhile for floor to heat up.
