Nope. You didn't touch on the single most important feature of any note taking device. Search. The whole idea of talking notes is being able to easily retrieve them later. Not tomorrow but 6 years from now. iPad is still king for this reason alone. Best in class search functionality. Even for hand-written notes.

I ordered yesterday, and it's being delivered today. This will be my first dedicated electronic note-taking device outside of my Samsung Ultra 22 phone. My cell devices have been Samsung Note's since the Note 3 (2013). While not the same, I'm used to having the dedicated pen for note taking on it and won't even look at a phone without it. I'm really interested in the yet to be released a5x2 Supernote, but I'm hopeful this will be a good basic introduction until then. Thanks for the review! Yours and the few others on this product gave me enough confidence to take a chance on it. I'll come back and let you know what I think from a newbie user perspective on this type of device.

Excellent review. thank you! It's really too bad that only 4 youtube reviewers have even mentioned the Penstar ENote. Why are there so few reviews? The buttons are VERY appealing, as is the super-bright screen. The price is also very attractive, as is its ability to attach a USBC thumb drive. Amazing! I'll be getting this before the Supernote A4 comes out.

whoa having the custom buttons on the side bezel is really appealing... boox should definitely take note. having them be an eink screen to display the button function would be awesome. some haptic click on top of that, I would have a hard time not buying it. Boox BSR with 300 ppi too lol

I am not tech savvy and don't know much about options for writing tablets. I work in a role where I have to takes LOTS of handwritten notes while people are testifying, and I want to find a device that will convert my notes to text which is then searchable for terms. Would this device work? Is there another device that you have worked with that I should consider? I am just looking for someone to point me in the right direction.

Yes, this could work. you can also record audio while you take notes with this as well. You can also check out offerings from BOOX as well as remarkable!

What happens if you lose the stylus? What if the company goes belly up-can another pen be used? (eg EMR)

Yep! I’ve got one, and it can search through handwritten notes directly, super handy. I always forget where I write down, so this feature saves me time!

Yeah you can side load stuff but I don’t know how! Brand sent me instructions but I haven’t tried yet.

Good review. I dislike the professions of some reviewers that a review is "honest." Can't we just take that for granted until there is some indication to the contrary? I don't assume that if a review is not labeled "honest," then it must be dishonest.

Dude. Let me vent. If I make a review saying I don’t like a product, people call me a jerk and ungrateful for being able to work with a brand to review their product and saying it’s bad. If I make a review raving about a product, people say it’s an ad and I’m dishonest because I’m getting commission or am getting paid for the review. It’s a losing game. Therefore I appreciate you and folks like you who give me the benefit of the doubt.

Interesting. The specs indicate that it runs Android, so perhaps the Play Store needs to be authenticated like some older Onyx or Bigme devices needed to do?
