Everett.... Absolutely... I have been to several Pentagram shows, and actually, there's always lots of cute girls hanging around afterwards begging Bobby to take photos with him and talk to him... He's a super nice dude, he even did some radio promo spots for my show... Hung out with him backstage a few times... He seems to treat women with respect every time I've seen him...
@stevencannon70547 жыл бұрын
Yes indeed... I know it was instilled in me very early on by my parents, but even though I didn't listen much (lol), I saw firsthand how men bullied and beat on women... Always sickened me, especially since all the hotties I wanted to be with preferred THOSE types of men...

UFO is one of the most underrated bands out there
@saraivatoledo18423 жыл бұрын
Absolutely ... so is Roky Erickson & the 13th floor Elevators , mind you . You know , it is strange cause people from bands keep on mentioning UFO as a main influence in what they do , and I mean people of King Diamond , Bruce Dickinson´s etc etc caliber ... still , people just don´t look for it , go figure . Roky Erickson on the other hand just happened to have had a " ressurgence " during the last years of his life , which was well deserved , a legend like that dying without a shred of recognition would had been criminal . Still there were a LOT of Roky Erickson/13th elevators covers by very notorious rock/ Metal bands, we don´t need to go too far , I was introduced to Roky Erickson in the early-mid 90s by , out of all bands , - Entombed , with their " Night of the vampire " version which I 1st thought was their new single , and as a teenager I remember thinking : " Holy s*it ! These guys keep raising the bar in Death metal , this is unparalleled ... " ... little did I know the world which was about to open for me .

None of this stuff is obscure. Raw power is legendary, as is white light/white heat. New York dolls followed the bands that made those and their first album is better than the second he’s getting, but I’m sure he has both already. The other Johnny thunders project is hard to say where it falls but is still huge to musicians, I think his so alone solo album is better personally. And ufo is mostly brought up by musicians of the time or played/toured with them, which he did and they were popular. Oh and Roku Erikson is a legend too, 13th floor elevators were great. He had 2 other main projects after that band I can’t recall if his brother got him to record anything after all the drugs and institutions but he did clean him up and get him playing again before he died. You can check out a good documentary on him, it’s usually streaming somewhere for free.

At 3:21 Bobby discusses the "peanut butter" fight Iggy had with the audience at the Cincinnati Pop Fest. Fun fact: That was the same gig where Alice Cooper got into an "angel food cake" fight with the audience. Bottom line is: That Ohio crowd came armed with food for the performers that night!

I had the pleasure of seeing Pentagram in Chicago many years ago. The two day trip from California was to see Pentagram, Bigelf and an unintended but remarkable visit to the museum for a Bowie exhibit curated by Bowie himself. I NEVER ASK FOR AUTOGRAPHS but after their spot on performance, I asked if my poster could be signed and they were gracious enough to meet and greet and sign. Heavy music, lovely people. 🤘💖
