In interviews every single member has said, at one point or another, that Mitch is the best singer of the group. He’s amazing. Though Scott is and always will be my fave. I’ve seen them live and his tone and pitch were just as amazing in the show I saw. They are all really amazing live.

Yes, That's what they auditioned with! Telephone ALWAYS is a great Mitch song. Scott always throws his head and arms back when Mitch belts that high note in Telephone. 😂 There's even a compilation video of "Scott when Mitch hits that note in Telephone". He and Kirstie forget to sing backup during some of Mitch's solos... because they are listening to him. They're fans. lol! On "Aha!" the fan knew that it was "Mitch's Song" for tour. They each have one. Every single concert there are 5 solos we can expect. What she did was zoom in on Mitch because it was his song and you couldn't see his facial expressions when she zoomed out to get everyone in the shot. I'm glad she zoomed in! Because Mitch has never given us so much face in any performance before this. We all know he can hit the high notes, but he emoted this time! Hitting the floor and crawling menacingly towards the fans.. (while singing!) and he didnt lose control or quality of his vocals. Bravo! And the runs, hand movements, Belting that last note (did you hear that echo?) and doing it with style! Pentaholics are usually the best audience for being able to film a performance and being able to hear them singing. They only cheer and sing along when it's appropriately timed. I'm so glad you watched both performances!! Mitch was in good voice that night! They all were! And, yes, Avi has blown speakers and mics out more than once... usually during performances. 😊 What a great morning! Thank you! Have a great holiday!

Aha! Singapore will always be my favourite live video of theirs. The fact that it's one of my all time favourite songs by Imogen Heap and the lead is sung by Mitch my favourite member makes it all the more better. Plus Kevin and Avi are killing it with those beats/ low notes.

Thank you so much for this reaction. It's about time that someone gave Kevin props for his beatboxing in this Aha performance because it was insane. So many other reactors were either asking where he was throughout the song and you could clearly hear him even if you couldn't see him. Mitch slayed the vocals in this performance, she is not human, her vocal range is insane (yes I said she, Mitch refers to himself as both he/she lol, the Queen slayed lol). Great reaction. Glad you had a great weekend with the family. :)

Great reaction!!! It was so nice to hear someone actually know Kevin was there. So many people watch this video wondering where he is..he was actually putting away his cello at the start, but you see later that the other four move closer together so Kevin can fit in..and you noticed right away he was there. I love reactors who really listen and notice these things. I have to admit I have been a fan for a few years and have never seen the second video,,it was amazing!! I would love to hear you reaction to their covers of Say something and Imagine!!

Requests: Hit the Road Jack + Avi = Blown Speakers Nature boy/I should tell your mama on you live. There are a few performances online of this mashup. I am partial to Tara Marie Ahn and Alex Anderlik's respective Channels. Natural Disaster live - Either San Diego (outdoor venue) or Springfield, MO also it's an original NEXT: YAAASSSS! All Hail Queen Mitch! I've seen Aha! live quite a few times and Avi's bass can vibrate the venue. The Choral open reminded me that I wanted to let you know that if you haven't watched their "On My Way Home" documentary I suggest checking it out. Not a reaction request as I'm sure someone has already alerted you to it. FINALLY: As much of a Pentaholic as I am happy & PISSED at myself as I've NEVER seen that performance of "Telephone" so thank you for reacting to it.

I have seen a number of videos of live performances of "Aha" and you are absolutely right about Mitch. Obviously his stars were aligned just right that night because that one is by far the best. And "Telephone", WOW. I had seen the same video they made in high school but a combination of experience, voice maturation and the addition of Kevin and Avi made it truly awesome. It really makes me want to see a concert but this year's tour doesn't come close enough to me. Maybe someday. Thanks again for a great reaction.

Great reaction! It was so good when you commented on Kevin's crazy beat-boxing. He was off-stage putting away his cello during the choral part and was next to Scott for Aha. I've heard a few versions of Aha, including the official video, and Mitch was definitely on fire here. The choral song at the beginning was all Avi - he came up with the opening piece. It's the kind of thing his prior a cappella group had done.

Happy Memorial Day! These videos are hard to put into words. Their live performances are always on point but sometimes the do things that are just unbelievable and you're just happy someone caught it on video. They have a number of great live performances of Telephone on KZbin so I think the # of views are split among them. I can add that the reason Kevin and Avi greet each other at the start of the song is because this was to represent the 5 of them meeting the other 3 to form their group for The Sing-Off.

The reaction Scott has at around 8:27 when Mitch hits that high note in "Telephone" has become so iconic there's a fan compilation video of moments from live performances showing Scott doing that. He's been unable to resist that note, at that part of the song, since thry started perfirming it with this arrangement. The video is called "Scott Hoying when Mitch hits THAT note in 'Telephone'" And he has consistently reacted the same way over and over again throughout the years. 💖😉 It's a fun video to watch!

Mitch's performance in Aha in Singapore is where watching the SIng Off and them winning really pays off. As amazing as they were in the Sing Off, Mitch was so nervous and suffered from anxiety. His journey is one reason why Pentaholics are Pentaholics. His growth is an inspiration. There was a Pentacon convention for Pentaholics in 2016 (a second one I believe is in August in Texas this year) that had a panel consisting of Scott's parents, Mitch's dad (who is a hoot) and Kirstie's mom (her mom is a single mom) that answered questions from the audience. Mitch's dad, Mike, said that Mitch was so shy as a kid that he would only sing for his parents by singing for them hidden behind a round fireplace they had. Mitch was so young he missed his high school graduation to audition for the Sing Off (which he was fine with that). But the pressure on the show was so intense he called his Dad and told him he wasn't sure he could do it. They worked them 14 hours days with only one day off for I think two months. His Dad said he was under contract and had to finish. He thought Mitch was going to pass out on stage when they were waiting to hear the winner! In a different interview, Kirstie said she was crying after "Dog Days are Over," because she was so happy that Mitch finally got the recognition she knew he deserved. So many FEELS with this group! Here's a link to the parents talking about the group. It's long but it is wonderful! Super funny story about Kevin told by Scott's mom too. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nWWteZlupLVgisk

Yes Telephone is the first song they sang with all 5 of them. That's why it's so special to them. I'm not sure, but I think they wanted to sing telephone as their first performance on the Sing Off, but the show couldn't get the rights to use it or something.

don't remember if I mentioned this before and I know I'm a pain. 😶 I'm sorry. But it appears that you have officially become a fan. So I need to mention this about the AHA performance. You said something almost everybody says that reacts to this. You said you wish they hadn't have just zoomed in on Mitch and gotten more of the whole group because Avi and Kevin were killing it and doing amazing things. Fans that have been following them for years realize that this song has been being sung in their concerts from the beginning. If you listen to the official aha video you will notice that Mitch sings it very Softly and melodically. Almost like a little baby angel. Is this song is supposed to be about frustration and angst at hypocrisy regarding save the Earth types and all of their judging on everybody else when they are not living like they claim they are. Mitch cannot stand those people. It is a huge pet peeve it pisses him off! He has never sang the song like these people drove him insane. But he does hit all the right notes. Kevin and Avi do the same fabulous things that you are hearing in every single performance since they first did this. You can go back and find that on other videos. This was a moment in Mitch grassi's vocal history that a fan happened to capture and if she had not have zoomed in on him we would have never seen all of that wonderful emoting he did. We've never seen that before from Mitch with this song. We have never heard this before either. And it flowed organically in this particular performance. I haven't seen every performance since then but I've seen quite a few and it is performed technically beautifully but it is a performance. He's really trying to capture this organic moment and make it something he can grab onto to and put into his song. everybody has a song that is all theirs and they perform it at every concert. It is literally Pentatonix tradition and that fan was expecting Mitch to be the focal point of this song. Mitch is really trying , but hasn't been able to tap into this feeling and emote it like he did on that night, on that stage, in that moment. If you look you'll see at the end he has a little bit of a grin showing and I've never seen Mitch grin at the end of this song. He simply says "thank you". In a very soft-spoken voice. That grin? Mich knew that something magical had just happened, and HE had done it! I'll never forget the first time I watched this. A couple members of my family are huge fans and we were running around carrying on and shaking up and excited and watching it over and over again and just calling people and telling them they had to watch it too! We were shaken up. and we're used to Mitch doing things other people or unable to do with their voice. I cried! I was so happy for him and so overwhelmed with the incredible experience I had just seen. I think my my family watched it non-stop for about 4 days solid and my youngest took it to school to show her choir and the drama club because these groups of people look up to Pentatonix. they cover pentatonix's covers! They were all freaking out including the teachers. Everybody was gather around to watch this the fact that it blew the teachers Minds to where they lost it in class says a lot because these people already highly respect Pentatonix. That's why we are only glad that they got the close up of Mitch. no one could have predicted what was about to happen and I'm glad this person was obviously a mitch fan and had that hyper focus on him. and she also got Avi hitting that low note cuz that's a big moment in the performance. she obviously anticipated it. to me that means she is a fan. they're going to be performing tonight on a capitol fourth on PBS! just in case you want to watch cuz it's going to be streaming! Thank you so much for being such an amazing reactor and a genuinely great person to come and hang out with on your Channel! There's a very easy going upbeat and good energy from this channel consistently and I absolutely love your reactions and That is why the reaction from seasoned reactors is so dramatic and they don't even mention wishing they had gotten everybody in the group in the shot. It's because they also happen to be fans and are extremely familiar with each member of pentatonix's history and style when performing as well as what to expect from each group member during particular songs. fans that have been reacting for a long time really lost it over this performance. They know how unbelievable this capture was and hearing Mitch and seeing Mitch feeling that angst at the craziness of that group of people really just came out and Mitch's frustration with that whole scene became something tangible during this performance. Mitch is always sweet and polite and soft-spoken in public because he's I don't know if she's the correct word but he gets nervous around crowds. He literally made his own career musical history during this performance and that fan just happened to catch the entire thing up close! That's almost like a miracle because it's so Random. I guarantee you that fan was not expecting this. I can't believe that nobody was singing along and ruining the video around the fan that was filming! Mitch has never even hit the floor like he did! That was a big shocker! So that's why fans that have been following them for a long time don't really realize that they didn't get the rest of the group because that was what they do all the time, and yes it is amazing, but this was a unique performance by Mitch Grassi. I hope like hell he's able to capture this again. I have faith that he will because he is so talented! 😊 HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!
