Thanks so much for your reaction! I agree, that the video reflects on how we've really needed to connect through our devices lately, and how important it IS to just stay connected!

Don't know about the red Solo cups but, aluminum cans worked perfectly as long as the string was kept tight.

Red Solo cups work with tight string. I used them when I taught children. They loved the exercise.

Beautiful! You can really put your finger in the pulse of a song. Keep it up!

I really appreciate the fact that you often play the videos twice so you can pick up more nuance. I am old enough to remember Stevie Wonder's release of this song and honestly thought no one should ever cover it because it was so good. Pentatonix proves me wrong. Again. Love these guys.

Your comment "when did you last write a letter" brought to mind when I was cleaning out my mom's house after she passed. I found some letters that my dad had written her before they married when he was in basic training for Army National Guard. My daughter-in-law and I were reading them and she said, "Why did we ever abandon pen and paper? These are SO romantic and sweet! There's just something about a letter that a text can't equal." 🙂

It was wonderful and I love your point that we should do this. After 40 years together my husband died 2 1/2 years ago. If I could only tell you how much I would love to be able to pick up the phone, text or zoom and say, "I love you!" When it's too late, it's too late. Blessings

I agree that they totally put so much creative energy into every single video!! Loved your reaction as always! This came out on my dad's birthday so I was able to send it to him for his birthday. He likes ptx too.

Yay! I've been burnt out on the original of this song for years but I love this version & the video is so relevant right now!

I text my brother every Sunday just to tell him I love him. I use Facebook to message my family in Texas and Minnesota to say hi, thinking about you, hugs, and love. I talk to my son every day and I call my grandson every night to say I love you and to tell him goodnight. Written a letter? Not in years. That key change where they each say heart is my favorite part, it gives me the chills

I love the message of this song-just call and say I love you on a regular day: don’t wait for a special day. Their wall of sound is amazing. This is beautiful. Thanks for reacting!!! I appreciate you sharing your thoughts with us.

I appreciate your reaction! 🥰 And you're right, we should talk to each other more. How often do I have my parents, grandma, grandpa, etc. calling and I'm annoyed because I don't have time right now. But at some point the phone stays silent, the person is no longer there. This is what happened to us last year and today I would like to have these calls so much, but now it is too late. So take your time and say I love you! ❤ Thank you 🙏🏻

Just love it. So well done and again just what we need right now. I do enjoy your reactions and as I'm in NZ, they arrive a bit quicker than other ones. I'm not making any comparisons with the original as it's like two different songs, and why not? We get to enjoy amazing harmonies and clever techniques just with their voices. Thanks for doing this. I'm 82 but I've been zooming and having appointments online, as though it's always been like that. I'm so glad technology gave us this opportunity. As for the talent on this one, it's just awe inspiring.

What a great reaction! You’re right that the video just adds that something special. These guys are just sooo darned special and talented. I cannot remember the last time I wrote a letter. I don’t like to text all that much either and so I pick up the phone and call. I want and NEED to connect with the person’s voice. My adult children call every day just to check on me and to say hi and both my grandkids FaceTime me. I only have one sister left and we connect every day by phone or FaceTime. You have to love the available technology that lets us stay connected so easily. Love your channel

You have been one of my favorite PTX reactors since you started. It is great to see you coming out of the dark. Glad to see your face again. And this song/video is awesome. I have used WhatsApp on my phone to make a few international calls with my sister during COVID. My tech is getting further out of date...

After watching the video and a dozen reactions, it just occurred to me the cup and string phone won't work unless the string is pulled tight. Oh well, it's still cute.

You know their new Christmas album comes out at the end of the week which includes this song! I always look forward to your reactions and this is no exception. I do hope PTX makes it to Australia sooner than 4 years. I'm afraid it's pandemic dependent. I'm going to their Christmas show at the end of November. I've never been to one of their shows. I know you have. I've seen your videos regarding that. Can't wait!

I loved this video. I had heard the audio version, but this video puts it into the current context of electronic connecting - except for the kids with the plastic cup telephones. Wasn't that great? I used Zoom a lot last year. No one does wall of sound like PTX. When they go into 5-part harmony - wow! What a sweet and caring reminder that we need to do more tell the people in our lives that we love them. Great reaction!
@grazynawikert-unger21223 жыл бұрын
Love you reaction and I completely agree with what you said about electronics, which are irreplaceable in a pandemic. I think that this difficult time of the pandemic made us realize how little time we sometimes devote to our loved ones. But in life it usually happens that we appreciate different things only when we suddenly lose them, e.g. the possibility of direct contact, closeness.

Did Kirstie do the original recording while looking at a storyboard and knowing that in one scene she would be watching a boy eating his cereal and talking to someone on an Ipad? When she turns from the boy to the camera, you hear a little intake of breath that goes with the smile she flashes. Was that planned or serendipity?

I wish you still did ptx reactions like they have 100's of things you've never reacted to and at one time the plan was to go back and do some of those but you never do anymore. most of those 62k subs are from pentaholics. i am not subbed at the moment bcz you've stopped doing anything but new stuff. i loved your reactions but don't like all the other stuff you react to but that's my problem i just wish you did more ptx. I just check in every so often to see if you've reacted to anything by them.

Hi Ollie, I still do PTX reactions, but no one ever sees them as they get blocked. I'm still trying all the the time to release reactions but with no luck.
