I had the opportunity to travel the US in a small van with my best friend of 40 years for a month. What you see traveling across the country on backroads and US highways is amazing. Yes,there is a corner in Winslow Arizona for any Eagles fans reading this. It is amazing to see this kind of scenery out the window day after day and drive hours without seeing single car. It’s just astonishingly beautiful.

This was filmed in the Mojave Desert outside Barstow, California. I LOVE the way the sun set just as they hit their last note. As a long-time TV and video producer/editor, that's the kind of shot that thrills me to the bone! The two songs you still must check out from them are Daft Punk Medley, which is completely mind blowing (and won them their first Grammy) and Imagine, which is a serious tearjerker...and includes a vocal solo from Kevin. But you really can't go wrong with anything from them.

It’s Mitch! His voice is truly unique. His looks change frequently, but when he starts to sing, you know it’s him. Their ability to listen to each other, pull back during a solo & build emotion together is truly a testimony to their dedication to their craft. I love their original Sing! If you pay attention before Avi starts his part he’s performing the bass and when he starts Scott takes over. There’s practically no difference and the transition is flawless without skipping a beat.

For more solid covers, check out Can You Feel The Love Tonight, Shallow, Come Along, Bohemian Rhapsody, and New Rules x Are You That Somebody. If you'd like to hear more variety, try some of their original music - Can't Sleep Love is one of my favorites, though they have two brand new originals Happy Now and Be My Eyes. Older originals include Love Again, Show You How To Love, Run to You, and Light in the Hallway. If you'd like some more holiday music, their second Grammy was won on Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. They also do incredible covers of classics like Mary Did You Know and Little Drummer Boy.

I second the idea of a reaction to Daft Punk. It showcases the remarkable precision they have with each other in reproducing a fast tempo electronic medley of the Daft Punk band. They recorded it themselves in a closet in Avi's house in 2013. The video was recorded later in the same house for a total of $400. Daft Punk got them a Grammy and their first recording contract.

I feel you on the gray hair. My dad was fully gray at 18 and thankfully for me its not to that extent but I started getting grays in my early teens. Im 28 now and have very noticable grays scattered throughout my hair. Being a female I was constantly asked if I was going to dye it, but im not that kind of a woman. Its something I have fully embraced.

Awesome reaction man, I agree with every word you said. With mediocre singers all we can do is admire the effects, the visuals, the background or the costume, but with them is all about their voices and arrangement, you don't even care about everything else going on, they're that good. Maybe as a suggestion you could try "Mary did you know", given we're about to enter the Christmas season and that's one of their absolute best songs, you won't regret it. Also, with all due respect since it's coming from another guy, but man, all that gray makes you look even more gorgeous if it's possible, and I can't believe I'm older than you! haha. It's the High Desert wast coast. I lived in the high desert for three years Nice to look at not so great to live hot as hell in the day and freezing at night . Had to get back to the deep Forest to live I missed trees & rivers way too much .

Since this was for a Christmas album, they had to film it way early. Evidently it was about 100 degrees that day, and they had to wear their winter clothes. Assistants had to run in often with water and to wipe them down since they were sweating so much. Talk about dedication to your art!

Avi had to leave Pentatonix in 2017 due to personal reasons, but they remain friends. Avi helped them find Matt as their new bass. Since he left Pentatonix he's gone on to have a very successful solo career; you should check out his channel, and yes, he was a good deal younger than you are when this was made. Not so much, now. The guy with the high voice is Mitch Grassi, counter tenor. His range is 6 octaves plus one note, and that's not counting his whistle tones. There are a couple of Superfruit videos of Mitch and Kirstie (Kirstin Maldonado, mezzo soprano) competing on whistle tones. Hilarious. (Superfruit is where Mitch and Scott go to goof off.)

So, they were discovered on the Sing Off and the judges reactions to every performance are priceless. Sara Bareilles, Ben (Ben folds Five) and Shawn Stockman from Boyz II Men. Avi and Kevin are called the meat and potatoes of the group with the deepest bass and most solid beatboxing ever. At the time, Kevin, Mitch, and Kristin were still teenagers! Especially good performances are Video Killed the Radio Star, The Dog Days are Over, and Born to be Wild.

Yes it was live place. Mary Did You Know was filmed in a cave in LA. (same cave they filmed Batman) Some are filmed in Churches or special places. This is an awesome group!

Okay my recommendations are to pick off the Grammy award winners. 3 total Daft Punk, Dance of the SugarPlum Fairies and Jolene. First 2 for a cappella arrangements and the last for country duo performance Pentatonix and Dolly Parton in 2017. Interesting later fact on that last one Avi left Pentatonix in September of 2017 spent a year traveling and moved to just outside of Nashville, Tennessee from Los Angeles to begin his solo folk music career (a category now called Americana by the music marketers and including country and bluegrass as well) and is apparently a near neighbor of Dolly Parton according to a fan who lives in the same town.
