Peoples 7" inventory, along with their soul and jazz LP's are very impressive. I could spend days flipping through those boxes. Classic R.E.M. The music on those albums has not aged a bit. That is the only PJ album with Dave Krusen behind the drum kit. He was the only former drummer to be inducted into the R n R Hall of Fame, with the band. I love his playing. Eno/Byrne - what a pairing. I own that title; I need to revisit it. "Superwomen" is pretty stellar. Stevie could do no wrong in the 70's. Dorothy Ashby played on "Songs". Far and away my favorite Stevie album. So many killer titles this week! Awesome, Steve.

You would get lost in that store Mark, I definitely thought of you when I saw all those 45s and then the storage boxes for them. I have never seen so many. Nice record store tour, great place to dig. Murmur is wonderful, it's probably the only REM album I still want to listen to. Now and Zen is a decent listen, I quite liked Manic Nirvana too but Raising Sand with Alison Krauss is my favourite. I love those early- mid 70s Stevie albums.I'm still after an OG of Songs in the Key of Life with the 7" . First 2 Eurythmics albums are great. Great albums.

Very cool store. There's a record store in Toronto that has 10s of thousands of singles. It's such a niche market, I'm surprised they want to take up the store space with it. Still, if they're the go-to place for 45s, perhaps it pays its way. And thank goodness you're buying unnecessary records again. I have always wanted to go to Detroit. Being a longtime fan of the Red Wings and the general history of the city. People's Records looks like a very welcoming shop. Now and Zen was a strong album for Bobby. Not a bad song on the whole album. He still held onto that core group of artists including his son-in-law Charlie Jones. Bush Of Ghosts is also a strong album. Jezebel Spirit would be the perfect song for any horror movie that deals with possession. In the early eighties every other drive-in was showing some kind of 'the devil got me' possession movie knockoff of The Exorcist. Anyways. Cool tour Steve. Did you hit any other places in the downtown area? Rob/Boston

Now that is what I call a wall of soul, you gotta go to a place like Detroit for the good stuff. Love the custom 45 boxes. My own soul singles collection takes up a whopping 2 boxes like that lol. Never seen any vintage Etta James vinyl here, that kind of soul is just not around my area. Two original Pearl jams, what are the odds...my grunge is all on CD, I did start buying the PJ albums on vinyl at one point but sold them pretty soon, CD is good enough for me for the grunge era. I like the odd song here and there but overall I could never really relate, so much angst, I can still take or leave it to this day. Thrifted a decent copy of My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts years ago, weird thing was the same week at a different thrift store (not even in the same town) I found another one by Eno, looking barely played too. Only time that ever happened. Gotta have the Stevie's in the collection, again you used to be able to find those at thrift stores here but no more I think. I still like Africa, one of the first records I ever bought, still have the 45. Been a while since I listened to Timbuk 3 but I remember it being pretty good, more than just that one hit. Cheers Steve!

Hold the Line was on the radio today. I always thought it was from their Fahrenheit album. Live and learn. I was about to introduce myself to Toto's music by buying their compilation about a month back. Didn't do so. Stevie's Where I'm Coming From (prior to Music Of My Mind) was already showing signs of what would come in more refined form on later albums. I've wanted to get Songs In The Key Of Life on vinyl for years, but it's always either in too bad condition or missing the 7" EP. Well, to be honest, i'm sure even after i'll get it, i'm sure i will continue to play it from the cd. Pasi

Lol, at least with CD you don’t have to flip the albums over. Finding it with the 7” is difficult, I was lucky to dine it with everything. Toto would be about greatest hits. It has not aged as well in my opinion Pasi. The first album is about memories otherwise Greatest Hits suffices.

I really like R.E.M., have most of their albums, but I’ve yet to listen to Chronic Town. I need to rectify that. I have heard Murmur though. I remember when that Robert Plant record came out. He did a show at SDSU while I was attending there. I had to listen outside the amphitheater. You gotta love Stevie Wonder. Some great songs. I just have volume 2 of his early hits. Of course who hasn't heard of Robert Plant...I have his first two albums but not this one. I just recently picked up Songs In The Key Of Life...I know hard to believe that I would get that, right? I definitely have the first Toto album in my collection. Have a good one!!

Yeah, you got the first Toto Ben! Don’t Hold The Line is a rocker. That Plant I showed he really embraces some Led Zeppelin on that, some thing you would appreciate. Grunge really did change the music scene, blew it up but all the kids want their own music that they can claim. It is still happening but now I can’t keep up with it. I always appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment

I bet I would have found a ton of 45s I'd want in that store. The really old stores are my favs.... Ugg, jazz, who cares. Your even playing that shit. LOL ... What were the prices like Steve? I couldn't catch any while your were leafing through the albums. Oh there we go, not bad for what you picked up.

Bobby I definitely thought of you when I saw all those boxes of 45s. Is t that crazy. Prices were decent, I did not feel overcharged on what I bought. You would have loved looking at all the memorabilia

Wow what a store Mike!!! Pearl Jam...hmmm. yes I do like that record. It's funny how at the time it sounded revolutionary, but today it sounds like a solid classic rock record, albeit with some heavy lyrics. Nirvana still sounds like it came out yesterday to me. Love the first two Waterboys. Well they're the only two I have & now I can never listen to them again because you said the dirty words Van Morrison & U2. Damn you Mike 🙄Chronic Town is great even without Radio Free Europe ha, ha. Murmur is a masterpiece. No arguments here.Gotta say Mike I was surprised with Now & Zen. I think it's fantastic, but until now I didn't have any fellow supporters. I also love The Principle of Moments. Eno & Byrne..geez Mike talk about classic after classic you're pulling out! 70's Stevie is the bomb.I agree with you that Music On My Mind & Songs In The Key Of Life are the bookends of his best stuff. That Al Green GH has all you need for the not in deep fan. Not a bad track. And then......Toto 🤣 I guess you had to be there. Mike you've done it again, even though I'm never sure what 'it' is. Cheers...Mike

Lol, then then there was Toto lmao. The wheels came off the wagon Mike. I will not talk about how U2 makes the 83 list, nope, won’t go there Plant really did put out a lot of solo stuff but Now and Zen, rock on baby. For the Warerboys, Fisherman’s Blues is one of my top 10 albums. Agree with your Pearl Jam and Nirvana comparison. Nirvana changed music again. A little late on this comment, I think furry Mike hid it from me

Hi Steve, love your channel love Kat, love watching your videos and your new purchases. But record store tours? Boring with a capital B!

Hi Rick, I really appreciate your comment, totally agree about the record store tours , I’m just not sure what to do with them. They are always playing music that get me copyrighted so now I have to put music over the top of it. What would you like to see. I got 4 more in my phone but going forward I can change it up, just not sure what to do. I do appreciate you taking time to watch my videos and Kat says Meow. Have a Happy St Patrick’s Day
