It ran like it was new after 232k smooth and quiet and never had any issues, my only expense was regular maintenance and change the brakes and tires until I sold it to a friend. Then I had an 08 Legacy spec B for a while which was really nice but not something I wanted to keep and put miles on long-term. Then I got my accord which was kind of the best of both worlds, comfort/power and reliability. I had to have the 3rd gear synchro replaced around 150k but other than that it's just been regular maintenance and very minor repairs (window switch, o2 sensor, etc). My mom has had multiple Accords. When she took retirement, she would "commute" from St. Paul MN. to Tabernash CO. every other month to see my sister's and her grandson. A 2000 mile round trip, 6 times a year with side trips to visit a former neighbor in Idaho. Plus all the daily driving here in MN. ONE CAR had an issue with warped rotors pulsing the brake pedal. A non disabling failure in 4 cars and many 10s of thousands of miles of driving. She routinely got 35+ mpg on the highway. Her mid 80s Accord (not a sports car) would pull to 85+ in 3rd gear. I was impressed.

Even had a busted radiator for months during a hot summer, carrying gallons of water in the trunk and a couple bottles of that crappy radiator sealer I’m sure that knocked a few miles off the motor’s life. 2012 Honda pilot, it's been driven over 121K miles had NO major issues. It just keeps on going, this is well-built truck with bullet proof engine on. I'm dying to get to see 2023 all new design of Pilot. I would definitely buy this again!!!💪

Had a 2005 with the 2.4 Auto. Now, 2008 with a 5 speed Manual, still 2.4. These engines rarely let you down. Comfortable for 5, rides great, mileage last trip over 30. You just can complain about great engineering. Honda knows what the heck they are doing, without question. Gone are the days where we had to 'grind the valves' on some big hulking land barge. Honda makes them right, and if they come out wrong, they make it right. Best car(s) I've ever had. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.

Not a big fan but there is a reason you see so many of them popular wise. That engine is really good. Trans not so much tho a weak point automatics in particular even Hyundais automatics are more well built.

@@robmalcolm8042 Well, my 05 was an auto. The 08 is a manual. Still love the manual. I think I gave the 05 car away with 170,000 miles on it, something like that. I put 100,000 on it, no problems at all with the trans or the engine. One issue was the AC didn't work correctly, but everything else was fine. Wait, I did have one issue. The belt tensioner wore out on the belt so I had to replace that. 10 dollars. That's about the only money other than oil I put on that car. It was a 2 door. They called it 'Accord' but I think it was actually a civic with different sheet metal, but I'm not sure.

@@robmalcolm8042 And I also had a Hyundai. Accent, 2002. At 103,000 miles, the trans fried. At that point, that car, it would have been insanity to fix. I basically gave that one away for some kid's project car to fix up.

Oh, by the way, I absolutely and without equivocation, HATED that car. What a piece of garbage. That was a long time ago, and I'm sure Hyudai has improved, but that car, that model year, it was the worst car I have ever owned. I mean, even the radio didn't work right )
