The plaintiff says he and the defendant shared an apartment, but his roommate ended up being a crazy slob who fought with him nonstop. He moved out and is suing for outstanding rent and damaged belongings. The defendant claims the plaintiff is a creepy guy who oiled his feet in the living room and even signed them up for a cult. He says the plaintiff moved out, so he owes him nothing.

I went to a landmark forum event. I was pressured into it. It was the most culty thing I've ever experienced to this day. They wouldn't even let you disconnect the chairs from each other. They invited people up on the stage, shouted at them to bring them to tears and then laid out their cult as the answer. It was horrifying. 'no means no' doesn't compute with these people.
@lolalopez7657

I was pressured into going too. It was crazy. People would get on stage and tell a horrific story like they were raped as a child and then be coached into thinking that a truly traumatic event was not bad or good. It was an experience. It just was an experience in your life that you accept without adding meaning to it. For three days people were brainwashed and smiling like they just won the lottery, meanwhile they talked about these horrible things that happened to them. It was sad to see people who were truly scarred and victims, be exploited and victimized again, for the sake of this pyramid scheme. Many of these people really needed help.

Plaintiff is seeking...sadly, seekers are quite often the most gullible therefore highly vulnerable, where cults are concerned; Landmark Forum most definitely is a cult, the rebranded version of EST. "Werner Erhard" slid off the grid in the early '80's for tax reasons. During the time I lived in Laguna Beach ('84-96) I knew several individuals who went through EST deprogramming...they admitted they weren't quite the same after delving into the whole EST paradigm but the deprogramming helped. Their families were shattered by the whole experience as EST fought hard to keep those poor folks entrenched, much like scientology. 💔

They spent the first 2 hours of every morning and evening lecture telling us that the intermediate forum is amazing and if we think we're learning a lot from the beginners course, just wait for how awesome the next one is. Other than that, I can sum up in 1 paragraph what they taught in those 3 days of 12+ hours of lectures. Don't dwell on the past, because it is unchangeable and will hold you back. my observations: plaintiff definitely wanted to be boyfriends with the defendant. He clearly believes in this therapy system a bit too much. The plaintiff acts like he's used to his being clingy working out for him and this is why he has this odd behavior. Nobody has raised him to understand no means no, or about boundaries. Defendant was not being odd or anything and I have no idea why Judge got irritated. he was being calm and polite the whole time, he was just clearly uncomfortable being there. The plaintiff appears to make the defendant uncofortable just by being near, which makes me thing there were a lot more odd things he did. I think he's right on the therapy thing being a cult, the kind to milk you out of money. No therapy I have heard of charges you a huge amount up front like that. I get wanting to move the plaintiffs things out immediately. I am sad that it was wrong on his part, because he needed it gone to get rid of the daily reminders of the plaintiff and his behavior it was necessary for getting over the situation and moving on
@Gekkotor
@Gekkotor 2 жыл бұрын
Honestly I think the judge just puts pressure on someone because they are more likely to slip up if they are lying, and personally whilst I do agree that the plaintiff was a creep, the defendant should probably have waited the 30 days before throwing his stuff out. Whilst it might not seem fair to us regular folks, its probably the most balanced view the judge could have given by law.

I've heard of these! They make money off telling people "think positively and you'll be a winner!". Think of the plan in "Little Miss Sunshine!" Added: I just got to 7:30!! OMG! So staying positive, bottles up your anger? Hysterical!

The plaintive is an extrovert and drama queen the defendant is a introvert. This was dead from the jump.
@KaiCluster
@KaiCluster 2 жыл бұрын
More like.. the plaintiff was gay and had the hots for the defendant. The defendant was straight and didn't want to hurt the plaintiffs feelings. The constant texting of his daily schedule made it way too obvious. That has nothing to do with the plaintiff being extrovert. It has to do with the plaintiff wanting to forcefully share info about his intimate life with the defendant and the plaintiff reacting emotionally to the defendant rejecting that.

@@hakeemtheplace2959 Oh the sweet irony when the person who thinks the other one is dumb didn't sense sarcasm in the reply, even with an obvious emoticon at the end of it. Even funnier is the fact, that even though you said that I'm not smart, you apparently have issues following a conversation made of 3 replies - to clarify, my sarcastic reply to you, was a reply to your own sarcastic reply to me, quoting: "omg thanks so much for that now I can live my life", which was a reply to my statement (which I'm still certain of) that the plaintiff is gay. Hence why I specifically replied with "I wonder why knowing someone's sexuality would have such an influence on your life". Thank you for the fantastic display of a cognitive bias of illusionary superiority! Good shout on that being your last message as Mark Twain said, "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt."

I think the plaintiff is oblivious to the fact that he comes on too strong and obviously wanted more from the defendant, who just wanted a roommate, not a bed mate. And when someone comes on strong and they don't get the hint that the other is not receptive, then it just becomes creepy, which shows because the plaintiff took it so badly he told the defendant he had called the police was taking his stuff and leaving. Why was he awarded $681, no bed is worth that much!...

First, defendant is 🔥😂 Second, plaintiff is a freak and a weirdo. He thought they were having something going on when he was offered a room to move into and was hoping to be more than friends. It cracks me up to how he tries to portray himself as if he’s the victim and so innocent. “I felt threaten…” bruh, you slammed the door, was agitated, and was harassing him daily with your text messages that have nothing to do with him 🙄 get out of here. Third, this judge was a butt in this case, she knows exactly what the plaintiff was up to when he moved in with the defendant.

Every time there was a supposed breakthrough - complete with people weeping and hugging around the room - the Forum leader was laying on the high pressure sales pitch for people to sign up for the next course. Or better yet, pay for a friend or family member to attend the Forum. Imagine the emotional blackmail of having someone pay for you to attend without you even knowing it, because they think this is something you “need”.
