Wow! The insurance company determined these two people both acted badly, which I completely agree with. The plaintiff sped up when the defendant tried to merge. She admitted to being in a road rage incident and should have been responsible for her own costs. They both acted stupid

To be fair, there have been times where she’s asked for something like she would say “ah you probably don’t have that” but then the litigant is like “Oh yes I do” and then JM is shocked lol I think she HAS to ask. Not just for TV and so people have all the information but to cover all her bases as well. I mean I’m pretty sure she already has the police report and has already looked at it. Everything they placed into evidence she has already.

@ Sorry, I misspoke, but crap happens sometimes! Regardless, if one is hit on the side of the vehicle between the rear door post (approximately the center point of the vehicle) or further back, the accident is the other person’s fault because they have full view of it. I knew an accident recreationist, and that’s how he explained it to me. Have a great day!

I'm confused... the damage done to the Plaintiff's car (through pictures) was on the driver side of the vehicle and front bumper however, during her testimony, on the white board, she positioned his vehicle as hitting her passenger side fender/bumper???? Did I see that correctly?

I don't understand how Judge M came to the decision that the defendant was deliberately trying to torment the plaintiff. Unless something important was edited out, it seems they both acted impulsively and immaturely in that situation. And I don't agree with the verdict.

i can tell just by my own life experience of over 50 years observing different types of people that the plaintiff was the problem and she lives her life by the rules of the ghetto , but the defendant on the other hand was raised well and does not live his life by those ghetto ways but even the most well raised people will eventually respond in kind to ghetto people who mess with them on the wrong day.

Judge M is usually strictly by the book but here she awarded the plaintiff over $1000?! That is ridiculous. I think the police and the insurance companies were correct that it was both their faults. She doesn’t look like a blushing little girl. She looks like she would stand up for herself through bad language and anger! She wasn’t backing down just like he wasn’t backing down. They should have both gotten zero and then Judge Millian could have given one of her famous speeches that this should teach them to not have road rage in the future.

I totally disagree with this ruling. It was allready settled by the insurances at 50/50. So I don't get how the plaintiff doesn't have to abide by the settkement. They were both at fault. He came back into her lane and she sped up seeing him coming back over. Neither side should have gotten anything.

Regardless of both their behavior, the verdict is correct. He had the responsibility of making sure the coast was clear for him to get over in the lane she was already in. As far as the insurance, they will always find away to minimize their responsibility.

I think a lot of people here just think they know EVERYTHING! Both of these people are complete buttholes. Yes, she is playing the “frail ole innocent lady” act however HE admits he cut her off TWICE. The insurance companies may not pay out the settlements, but they are not the law. The police do not handle civil disputes. Judge Milian was an actual judge who passed the bar exam and practiced law. Most of us aren’t. I think we need to remember that. You can disagree all you want, but to say that she ruled wrongly (in a mediation that is fashioned like a court room), is wild.

Those who are confused don't seem to realize being a jerk on the road doesn't typically cost money until your a**hole tactics actually cause damage. Yes, it's more likely than not they were BOTH engaged in the wreckless stupidity of pissing each other off. However, the defendant's maneuver cutting into the plaintiff's lane actually caused the accident/impact. For that reason, he was found to be more at fault by JM. The defendant should be glad both insurance companies deemed him only 50% at fault because fault 51% or higher would result in a surcharge/points on his license(at least that's the case in MA).

Both of them agree the "judge" will arbitrate, make a decision, and it's binding. While this show isn't scripted or fake like some of the others, it's still entertainment and the "judge" can decide anyway they want. Public civil courts may have different rules, but this is TV, not the same and both parties agreed to it giving up their ability to sue in a public civil court.
