The plaintiffs, a husband and wife, sold a car to the defendant, the wife’s daughter. They say the defendant was supposed to pay off the car, but she only made two payments, so they’re suing. The defendant argues her mom gave her the car and she even gave the car back, so she doesn’t owe anything.

When Maureen and Ron were separated, I belive she gave the car to her daughter. After she got back with Ron, he was upset the car was given away and said to get 1000 dollars. That was a pretty damning recoring. It's so sad, that this was taken to court. They're the essence of "functional disfunction" . I can't imagine having a mother that drinks like that and they view it as normal. Oof.

I think there was a deal to pay off the car but the mom is the type that talks sideways to her husband when drunk and went on a rant on the voicemail and the daughters used that as an opportunity. I think the judge saw it too and called it when they were smiling after playing the voicemail but she had to rule in their favor because the moms drunk ranting was so incriminating.

Exactly what I think. The parents are a mess, but they've been giving money to their daughter & either gave her a car or sold it to her dirt cheap. Judge Judy would have considered the two payments the daughter made as proof that it was not a free gift. Even if the daughter felt it should have been free, what's $1,000 for a car and family peace? Nope. She refused to make any more payments once she got that recording, then gleefully played it for the world in court. (publicly shamed & embarrassed her mother so she could get out of paying $900.00 more for the car she ran into the ground so badly it had to be junked) I don't think the daughter is a nice person.

I will miss People's Court. Yes we can see these old cases but Judge Milian's new show is just not the same. It looks staged. And in a lot of cases it's reenactments of real cases using actors.. The mother is obviously an alcoholic. The husband probably enables her. Very sad.

Complete and total fake judgement. In real life that tape can not be used as an agreement because legally to enter an agreement both parties have to be of sound mind. It was cleary stated that she was drunk or frantic when that call was made so it is 100% void. It would not have even made it in evidence in a real court room..
