The plaintiff's bad attitude is what made this deal go sour. When you enter into a contract and then ask for more after the deal is done, you should really control your attitude. Buyer's remorse is a real thing and I've experienced it but being nasty never gets you the outcome you desire. The defendants obviously realized how much value the Mercedes held and they just played it smarter. I believe they would have paid her but when she started the threats of lawyers and courts, they said the heck with it...sue me.
@wvrjl Жыл бұрын
Yes, I mostly agree. Sometimes being nasty does work (which is why so many do it), but usually only with people who don't know the law or nice people wanting to provide a good customer experience, or employees who don't want a complaint against them. However, being nice is always better.

I didn't get why they owed 1500. The defendants car was 3800 and the plaintiff's was 5500. The plaintiff put down 500 so she now owes 3300. So do the defendants not owe her 2200? That cannot be right. I will watch again and probably edit this comment later. EDIT: I see now they were taking the 3800 plus her 500 deposit making it 4300. OK then still I don't get the 1500. Would they not now owe her 1700? Can anybody explain? EDIT 2: OK I think I get it now. The swap was their car and 500 dollars (credit of 4300) for the Mercedes (5500). The price of the car was 4500 and the Mercedes was listed as 5500 so they owe her 1000. So now they owe her the deposit plus the 1000. Really the deal should have been that they owe her 1200 in my opinion as then the swap would have been equal to the Blue book value (3800) plus 500. The defendants had a good deal. Where it went wrong was agreeing to waiting until the tax money came in. They needed more fixed terms and agreements about when the money should be paid. The tax money must have come in by now. Then the plaintiffs talked about law suits and everything went south. The defendants could have just paid this and avoided this court case. Then again they are smart because the show pays the money. They didn't deserve the extra 1500 because she wanted more for the car. A deal is a deal. I didn't get about taking the Mercedes fraudulently. I thought that they made the deal about waiting for the tax money. Or was that not in writing anywhere?

If Kelley blue book was $5500, and the dealer gave them $3800, the dealer is not giving them 3800 anything. The dealer would want to resell the car, and their calculation includes what they're going to charge these other people for some vehicle they have a deposit on. They agreed to dispose of the vehicle for $3800 but then the other party agreed to compensate them for a vehicle that was worth $5500, which is very weird. They sold them their vehicle for $4500, but then agreed to pay them an extra thousand dollars? Just because they ended up getting $4350 in-credit from the dealership Either way, they owed the lady about 1500 bucks because they agreed to pay it. But they could've just switched vehicles straight out. And you can't trust anything the dealer say, because they are professional liars liars liars liars

Why wouldn't the dealership call the police if that's true? You don't make a deposit on a car then HOPE you can gather the rest. SMH.
