What the heck! For fun I googled the plaintiff and she has an arrest record for 'LARC - Other theft' with her mugshot from Palm Beach Florida dated Jan 2023. Would like to know the story behind that. Obviously if you're hiring an architect to design something that has to pass some kind of heritage panel you're not talking regular property like most of us would own, it's going to be higher end than that. As an architect, Harvey's analysis is spot on and classic construction law. We follow the rules and submit drawings, but it's up to the municipality to say yes or no, and we have no control over that! Sad thing is, based on the fact that the drawings are hard-lined, I'm sure the defendant spent more than 2 days on this project! Honestly his rate of $200 per hour is crazy cheap for his experience!
