And then the system was not properly cleaned out leading to the leaking evaporator coil. I have gone back after other contractors and seen it many times. The blame for the issues falls on both of them. Not doing basic checks and measurements will lead to lots of call backs and unhappy customers.

I tell ya what...there are 10's of 1,000's of AC service techs out there either laughing their asses off at this defendant, and/or calling him every name in the book, lol! Why? Because even though he lays down a good line of bad meaningless bull, this guy's still an IDIOT, with a capital I. Why? Because every last one of those 10's of 1,000's of AC service techs out there - check the units filter BEFORE EVER TOUCHING A TOOL. It's called, "Starting with the user manual in the troubleshooting section, (people, duh)." Although not an AC tech. I am a self-educated computer and software expert, with 26+ years experience in the troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, upgrading, building, and backing up of IBM-clone, Windows-based PC systems, Network troubleshooting, Web-base research, and the installing and re-installing of Windows, and Windows-compatible software. Now, having written all that unnecessary info for no reason at all, I'm fully aware that there are basic steps any tech, in any industry takes before even venturing to offer a diagnosis - and NOT starting with the basic troubleshooting steps included in - Only Every User Manual On The Planet - is NOT one of them! In fact, this is the cardinal sin of ANY service tech, period. This is because consumers make basic human mistakes - like not cleaning a filter - but a responsible service tech doesn't - because they start WITH the basics. Get it? Any repairs this tech did, were probably the very problem, and were so detrimental to the system, it started damaging other components - BECAUSE THE ENTIRE UNIT WAS SUCKING AIR - AND LOSING. As the defendant will in this case.

I also noticed that the defendant didn't get into the idea of being struck until WAY after. It strikes me as VERY ODD that the defendant would talk about it last. that its secondary to all the other stuff (although I guess he was talking about things chronologically) . I just don't buy that the other guy struck him. I could see him getting angry. and maybe approaching him. but I don't think he put hands on the guy. at the end of the case when the defendant was leaving he was talking about not being given the opportunity to "make it whole" )or something like that) - which is something you hear in some contractor cases in peoples court. The thing about that is... it seems to me to be a very odd thing for him to be saying about a situation where someone put hands on you. why would you return to a job site where someone had essentially assaulted you? Maybe the guy values the job more than his safety? but I don't know too many people like that. I'm always a mess now whenever I have to get a contractor. I have no idea if I'm getting ripped off. I'm between mechanics now and I have no idea what to do (I would read reviews but online reviews seem to be mostly fake now)
