The plaintiff says she hired the defendant to restore an antique chair, and he botched the job. He also neglected to appraise a painting like he was supposed to do, so the plaintiff is suing for her money back. The defendant says he spent hours working on the chair and the nasty woman posted rotten things about him online. He refuses to return a penny.

The plaintiff says that her 'copy' is worthless, yet pays $2000 for a frame. Some people have too much money. But a copy doesn't mean a photo, or print, it can still mean it was painted in oils and can be a very good forged copy, which is still worth something. I was once told by a curator at the Louvre Museum in Paris, that only excellent forged copies of paintings are on show and all originals are locked away in humidity controlled, fireproof vaults...

An appraiser that starts by saying 'I have no knowledge of 19th century paintings', is of little use to anyone, and why did he have to take it to the bathroom? And wouldn't the restorer have known that this appraiser was useless as soon as he would have said it was to appraise a 'Turner' painting and if he is so convinced that it is a genuine Turner, then he would have been more than happy to devote his time in finding out the truth. And what was with the defendant's wife carrying a suitcase around her body, when it was obviously empty...

Given the colors in that painting, a gilded frame would have been a complete waste of money - it wouldn't have stood out, or it would have over shadowed if the frame were too big, it would not have complimented the painting in any way, it would have been lost in the fray of gold and orange colors in the painting. The guy was trying his hardest to over sell her on something that would have made both the frame and the painting look cheap and trashy.

Everyone around the plaintiff: "It's a fake" Old man wearing glasses: "it looks like the real thing!" Plaintiff: "Oh, you don't say!? Everyone else said was fake" Old man wearing glasses: "Oh, for sure. It looks real. I'll get it appraised for you!" -Defendant does absolutely nothing for months on end so they decide, as a couple, to pick out one last place to get it checked out. Everyone after that: "it's a fake, the real one is hanging in London" Old man wearing glasses, "Although no one agrees with me, I think it's the real thing" Oh, so you think the museum has the fake?? Old man needs to retire, he's losing his wits. Also, I paused the video after she said it was going to cost ~$2k to frame the painting, I literally said, "If I'm paying $2k to frame a damn painting it better be gilded in gold. Otherwise I'll just go to the thrift store down the street and buy an already framed painting for $10 then replace the painting with mine." Judge: "Why would it cost $2k to frame a painting?" Defendant: "Well, your Honor, it was going to be gold gilded." WHAT. And people tell me I watch too much court TV 😂 For once I don't have an analytical POV, this case wasn't complicated, it was pretty light hearted. Although I'd want to be the plaintiff's child if they're able to go back and forth to Florida over the winter months and are able to shell out $2k for the framing of painting and $400 to fix the leg of a chair. The last few I've watched have been either complicated or I've disagreed with the final decision. This was a symbol of happy times where people didn't feel the need to yell and scream or call each other names. People who go to court now should take some notes! This is how you act and dress! :)

to see J.M.W. Turner's work in the Tate Britain, absolutely SUBLIME, one of the best days of my entire life!! 💕💗😍 His huge scale works (that was a lovely surprise 😍 saw them in books & sites for years prior) especially, reveal Turner was Sooo far ahead of his time. No photo, book, reproduction, does Turner's genius justice. See them in person. So worth it. If JM saw the work in person, surely she'd weep (I did, for several reasons but for her, their sheer beauty 🤯🤯🤯) as that awful photo and hideous frame caused her sour reaction. $2K for a handmade frame with real water guilding, that size? In 2022, it would be at least $5+K and that's NOTHING 😁 if her painting was authentic!

It's funny how Milian is much more pleasant when she believes she's dealing with upper class white folks. Even the tone and ambiance is completely different.

You’re wrong. I’ve seen her snap on “upper white class folks” she goes off of who’s got sense in the courtroom.

What I noticed, Adrian, was that when she was taking to the defendant, explaining why there was no contract on the framing part of the job, Judge Milian got damn near horizontal. I so doing, she mocked that man silly (as she should have; he's batshit crazy).
