No you should not have any sympathy for them whatsoever they know the rule most of them are just ignorant, Impatient, and Lazy, people just let the owner know you will only be open to buying the car if he will sign a 7 day agreement allowing the car to be thoroughly inspected if anything major is determine during that time the agreement can be rescinded if they refused walk because most times if they don't agree there is a reason 💯

If anything, that should really be the default assumption-that used car dealers are “sketchy” by definition. Sure, there may be good guys here and there, but most are there to make money within what’s legal (but not necessarily ethical). That’s why we need to know what as-is sales entail and be smart about guys like this defendant, that would put some lipstick on a junk car and sell it “as is,” claiming that it is a good car. There is nothing illegal about this unethical practice.

I bought a used 2007 Chrysler Pacifica limited. It has awd, gps, navigation seat warmers, DVD player. Shoot even has pedal adjusters. All these issues he described I had too. They are easy fixes. I replaced the intake manifold gasket, that stopped the misfire. Replaced the alternator fixed the stalling issue with the transmission. I will say, if it wasn't for KZbin showing me how to fix the issues I would be screwed. My Pacifica has 230,000 miles and still runs like a champ.

Words of wisdom I’ve learned is never buy anything that costs over $300 same day. Go home and think about it. All dealerships want you to buy on impulse. They know they can pull off a lot of scammy stuff doing it this way. Once you leave and think about it you will see their full of it. Never allow these types the ability to deal the cards because that’s how they gain profit. Walk away! I promise they’ll work more in your favor if you choose to come back.

Some of us don't have the money to pay someone to look at a car every time we look at one. On my fixed income, it took a little over 2 years for me to save the $900 I used to buy my van, I did ask a few places if they would look but they wanted $$$ .I got lucky my auto has lasted a few years, but now is having problems,I have about $50 saved toward buying a new one,I don't really see me being able to be picky or have many choices in what I get. So it's not always a person's choice to not have someone look at it or pick a newer car.Shoot my last van was the first time I had one in the 2000's.

@@Pepper9873 You do understand that women are socialized differently than men, right? Your average person is capable of learning anything regardless of gender, but expectations are that women do not know anything about cars and most of us don't. Our socialization, which is very difficult to deviate from for most, is about domesticity, subservience, family, caretaking, and nurturing. I have yet to see a little girl given toy cars or encouraged to take wood shop or mechanics. I'm sure there are some who do, but it's not the norm. So Harvey's question is perfectly legit. Mechanics do tend to take more advantage of women because of they expect most know nothing, which is true. When I need something done with my car, I always have a man (brother, friends) take it to the shop for me. I would be wasting my time trying to understand mechanical jargon because I just have no interest and don't care.

@@Childfree334 Again, that's using your gender as an excuse. I live with my mom and sister, my closest male relatives live in completely different states, so if I need something done with my car, I'm the one who makes sure that I'm not being taken advantage of. Just because women are socialized differently doesn't mean they can't learn about cars or that they shouldn't. We live in an age where information is literally at your fingertips and a two second search will give you an answer. The question only highlights how many women still allow their perceived inequality to control their lives.

I had a 07 Chrysler Pacifica what a piece of Crap. Like 68,000 miles back in 09 or 10 About a yr later the gas gauge quit working $1,200 to replace the whole gas tank for a floater issue. They are also 1 of those cars that you bump the keys and it shuts off

You should have a mechanic inspect a car before you buy it, not afterwards. It may cost you $100-$200 but it's money well spent. It's better than spending $10k down the road. In most jurisdictions, any used car sold without a written warranty is considered an 'as is' purchase, buyer beware.

The Plaintiff had too many Red Flags for the Judge to save the Plaintiff from. The moment he talked about how he took the car from point A to point B and than back to point A, I knew he was trying to save it. It's not a good look in court if you're trying to get your money back.
