I'd say the landlord is the nightmare, he nearly electrocuted a repairman, and illegally withheld over $1,000 of the tenant's money. He's a thief, and shouldn't be a landlord if he's going to steal from his tenants -- nightmare scam artist landlords need to be held responsible, they shouldn't just be fined double or triple what they illegally withheld, they should be put in prison for a few months, or assigned community service, just like anyone else who steals $1000 from someone.

I was on the Defendant's side the minute the Plaintiff played the voicemail message and started to look like she was going to cry. How sensitive people can be over something so stupid as a harsh message. I hate that she got back double her deposit (per the law) and then subtracted from there all the Defendant's damages- the Plaintiff should have gotten nothing back.

I had a friend who was a tenant like this. Complained about everything and then when it was fixed, complained some more. His landlord got tired of it and raised his rent $500 a month. To this day he still thinks that's normal. I'm a good tenant and I had a 1.7% increase during the inflation times and a zero increase during Covid.

I’m so thankful I’m not a landlord. I’m blessed to rent a beautiful home at this point in my life. I’m always on time with payment, keep the yard beautiful and the home clean. I do not nitpick my landlord for stupid things I can fix or have fixed within my budget. After all I feel like that’s my responsibility for being allowed to live in someone else’s home. I am a landlord. Have 2 properties in Orlando FL and 1 in Flint, MI. It is not difficult. You just have to choose your tenants wisely. With the rent I get my properties are already paid for. I spend a nominal amount to maintain the properties, and my tenants are great. They always pay on time, even in the midst of the pandemic. I am very blessed.

I was buying a house and closed on the last day of the month n thankfully my landlord let us stay a week n just prorated the rent for 1 week (instead of the whole month).
