Regarding hairstylists and tipping etc, even when I’m unhappy I don’t tell them I don’t like it that day, and I always tip. Maybe because I’m giving the cut the benefit that I’ll like it when I get home and play with it myself, and partially because we are taught to tip and taught to avoid conflict. That being said, I also would never sue my hair stylist

Defendant has no hair. She has completely ruined her hair follicles and will never grow hair again at her age. Her forehead area and side edges are completely shiny bald. Black folks it’s not that serious….get yourself a dreadlock wig if you MUST have dreads.

You should have went to a judge who at least knows what stuff about natural hair and dreadlocks. Anyone with natural hair knows those parts looked like trash. I’ve heard of people using a crochet needle but NEVER heard of someone using glue and we still don’t know what type of glue she used. I’m pretty sure she used something not made for skin and caused a rash (there’s always a possibility a little glue went onto the scalp) The lady was really bad traction alopecia causing her major balding to the point her hair starts at the middle of her head so I believe she styles way too tight.

You guys should upload the infamous wig case. The couple who accused a laundromat of destroying their $3,000 wig. Near the end of the case, the judge discovered that the wig was a cheap pickup they passed off as the ruined wig and threw them out.

Yes opinion, which was her point in that case. 🙄🙄🙄She didn’t say it was the best way to do it, just that nobody established proof of an industry standard and that the defendants way was outright wrong. I've had a loctician install locs in my hair before. A few things.. -Just the idea of someone using glue in my hair is absolutely insane. So the witness is spot on with that. -Her parts a horrible for a professional. The front of a client's hair is the first place you see. The parts definitely have to be neat and defined unless the client requested otherwise. That's why complete information is important before they get started. - Each extension is created long before the client even arrives so yes they do have a count of about how many locs the client will need ahead of time. Otherwise the client will have an unnecessary long wait. -Its NOT an art. It's a professional service that is PERMANENT and expensive. If the judge has her hair done and they use glue to hold the curls would that be considered art??? JM got this one wrong. Maybe not the full amount but some compensation should have been given.

If that was a black judge that knew the culture of our hair, and self handling our hair. This judgment would have gone the other way. The judge has no idea of knowing what that does to the mental and psychological of the mind of a black person that just paid 1100 to get their hair done and it's wrong in many ways. Artwork is what the judge called it. This is a case where the bar exam was useless!

The plaintiff's witness knew his stuff. He was well verse, and the end results of her hair showed it. The defendant needs to go to the witness and take classes. My natural her is Loc'd but if I wanted an extension, they would not use glue and it can be undone but it takes a lot of work. Please people glue is not used.

The lock lady was wrong. My friend is a loctician, and she never use glue. Also, the case with short hair weave, once again the judge and stylist was wrong. That style can be achieved with weave. I've seen it hundreds of times where im from. The stylist just couldn't do it. So, instead of saying it's unachievable, she should have said i can't achieve it or do it.

I know nothing about hair. When I was younger, I had long thick hair and my cousin would do braids or twisties halfway so it stayed out of my face and looked cute. I remeber being so impatient and my head hurting after. I bow down to anyone who sits their or can do hair for 14 hours. The keep up and styling of lots of hairstyles take a lot of work. I've never been able to style my hair. It's always in a bun.

Dreadlocks is a process. I wouldnt pay anyone 1100 to sew or glue dreads in my hair. I would start with twist and let the dread process run its course. And dreads don't have to be cut out. The defendant is not on her game.
