I told him to keep everything together, he lost every piece of that air conditioner, except the air conditioner itself, and then had the gall to tell me I didn't give him any other pieces! The extender was right in the air conditioner! He also lost the part that the air conditioner that the air conditioner sits on, that's on an angle, although he found that a year later (kind of hard to do when I never gave it to him). The extender I never got back. Every, single thing I've ever loaned him, he's destroyed. Never again.

The guy was surprised because the defendant had cornrow hair style and both of his ears pierced. What the media feeds the general public through movies, TV Shows, local news, etc, especially white America is that a black man with his description is not educated, or have a profession as an educator. The bias that many walk around with is that someone who fits the defendants description are more likely to be a drug dealer, gang banger, or a thug. As a black man who lives in NYC same as the defendant, I can tell you first hand that facial expression is very common when you inform someone that you are not on welfare, educated, have a career, never been to prison or do not have an arrest record. The the icing on the cake is if you happen to mention you own a home, or own your own business, expect a very sarcastic "Well good for you" remark.

When a tub is reglazed we cant use abrasive things on it like comet or Ajax. It will chip the glaze and it will start peeling. But a tub is not supposed to get to that point of being dirty that it need scrubbing anyway. The landlord is supposed to put that in the lease if they want the tenant to pay for the damage. With proper ventilation and regular cleaning mold and mildew would not build up to the point of needing scrubbing away. Ive never had to scrub my tub but then again I use a daily shower cleaner where I spray down the shower after my nightly shower and clean it thoroughly with a Mr Clean Magic Eraser. Works wonders and everything is sparkling white even the grout :)

I’ve installed windows shakers (window AC) and as long as it’s tiled towards outside it will never leak in the house. The condensate pan is located on the backside of the AC.

The judge needs to ask her father or brother, who are supposedly contractors, about the flooring. She is clearly mistaken that a couple of planks can just be replaced. Number one, if the flooring is three years or so old, that particular model is likely out of circulation. I know because it happened to me. Number two, with lock-in floors, you have to rip out a whole lot more than just one or two planks to repair it. And number three, that so-called water damage may actually be defective flooring and is probably out of warranty. All that said, the landlady is just being greedy. The tenant did nothing wrong.

Every time they start a new episode and they play the People's Court theme song, I find myself feeling like it's the early 70's and I'm a teenager again. Then it hit me, because back then there was a song plastered all over the radio, it's the 5th dimension and their song " Papa was a rolling stone ", might even be that the People's Court theme song was inspired by that old tune.

They tried to get over on him. How do you keep this man's entire deposit, and then show up to court to sue for damages with no proof of damage. Defendant seems so nice and plaintiff's seem like they have no idea what they're doing. They should NOT be anyone's landlord.

Landlords can be so greedy! If you bother them with repairing or replacing worn out stuff they don’t like it but then try and collect on your way out by keeping your deposit or suing you like this case. 🤦🏾♀️

The Plaintiff had no real physical evidence with pictures. She only had heresay evidence. That won't work in court. Get the plank replaced. He's not responsible. The Defendant was really nice. I'm so glad he won!

I wish he would’ve countersued for his security deposit. Especially once he saw he was getting sued! He was very professional, and even if he did all of that damage, which I do not believe he was responsible for… How do you charge him twice by keeping the security deposit and then bringing him to court. These landlords actually hurt themselves because they made it known that they’re greedy!

The tenant should have sued for his deposit back (cross sued). He would have won, minus the plastering to fill the holes for his TV and other things he hung.
