Such a wholesome, beautiful video. You are a great dad, Marty. Reminds me of one of my favorite trips when I took my daughter out for her first overnight backpack. Wonderful memories you are making! ❤

your daughter is such a trooper. nice to see a kid out enjoying the outdoors. most kids these days only wanna sit inside watching TV and playing video games. love the relationship you have with your daughter. I'm high on creating memories with love ones as well. keep it up and never lose touch of that.

That shot of the two of you snuggled by the fire was so beautiful I clicked "like" within the first 30 seconds of seeing this. And when you asked her if she was afraid and she said no because she was with you.....wow. Tears in my eyes. Those moments are what it's all about. Kevin Outdoors recently posted a video of him ice fishing with his teenage son. Beautiful moments there too.

What a great experience for children Marty - some real outdoors learning! It's great how you involve your daughter. Lovely video, and you do make a mean sandwich! I've had coyotes outside my tent in the Baja desert nights before - quite an experience. Thanks for another great video. Nigel, Scotland

Merci d'avoir partager
@martymorissette8 ай бұрын

Isn’t it great when they’re finally old enough and big enough to be much more than a well intentioned second set of hands? lol (I love that she’s journaling) I remember the trip when my daughter was tall enough and strong enough to actually be of assistance and was able to learn new/more advanced skills. Now, I’m looking forward to going through that process with my grandson ❤ What axe are you using? It didn’t look like one of the outrageously expensive Swedish axe brands and more like a very good hardware store axe. 🪓 I still use my fathers old axe he bought at the local Aubuchon Hardware store in the mid 1960’s 😊 * I checked your gear list before I asked lol

My friend! I use a cheap axe from home depot lol... nothing fancy at all! That's awesome you get to share your love with the outdoors with your grand son!
