I had a 19 that had a bad habit of stovepiping. Big burly range master walked up and said, "You can't shoot it limp wristed." (I had loaded my mags w/ quality factory ammo. So I knew that it wasn't the ammo or my grip.) He fired it... one mag down, he looked puzzled having just had four stovepipes himself. He then said that I should drop by Glock in Smyrna the next time I traveled to Atlanta, Georgia. He then walked away, possibly because he had just fired it "limp wristed"..... 😁

I agree that this is the most used perfect pair. While the mags aren't interchangeable, the ammo is, and that is the most important part. In my mind, this is a perfect pairing of a great handgun, and a good submachinegun.

Before watching the video, my perfect pair has been a glock 26 with multiple mags of different capacity, and a PSA ar9 shockwave. They both use the same mags and are obviously chambered in 9mm.

Maybe, but the versatility of the .45 LC and .410 shotshell makes up for that pretty well. Besides, if I want accuracy I can always switch to an SAA and Henry combo.

Other perfect pairs: 1) Beretta 92FS and CX4 Storm carbine: 9mm (choose the mag system of choice... 92 series or PX4 pistol). The 92-series mag set up allows 20-round and 30-round mag options. 2) Arsenal SAM7SF rifle and SAM7K-01 pistol. 3) Glock 20SF and a Glock 20 w/ MecTech carbine system.

Great video. I bought ($425) a Taurus CT9 9MM G2 carbine that shoots sweet. I began my mission to find a high capacity magazine for it. I heard that it was made to compete with the Baretta carbine by being a pair match. I couldn't find the Taurus handgun with a high capacity magazine that would go with the CT9. What I found were videos that eluded to filing down the magazine dimple and cutting the spring to make the 10 round magazine a 15 round magazine. Then, I got the "what if" idea to take a high capacity Colt AR9mm magazine, weld the top end of the of the Taurus CT9 9MM mag, and use the Taurus follower, to the Colt AR9mm high capacity magazine. Now, I couldn't find the Taurus handgun that had a magazine to fit the CT9. Yet, another "what if" theory I had was to use the CT9 magazine for the Taurus Millennium 24/7(with the Colt AR9mm magazine configuration). Now, I'm using the Just Right Carbine 40cal with my Glock 22 3Gen with high capacity fun sticks. I also "heard" that older High Point carbines take 1911 magazines. What are your thoughts?

His and Hers perfect pair. I have a pump 20ga and a 9mm carry pistol while the Wife has a 30-30 lever gun and a .38 special snubbie. We looked for a .357 lever gun but those are rarely for sale in our area and costs at least twice as much as a 30-30. I did have my own snubbie at one point but I prefer having more rounds. The tradeoff of stocking more calibers and handloading tools for each caliber is well worth the cost savings of the firearm and the less expensive ammo it shoots.

I am a Beretta guy! You can also buy a CX4 that accepts PX4 magazines. So if you prefer the PX4 over the M9 or 92 series handguns, you have some options on which handgun you want to carry. As far as I know, you can also buy a different mag well insert from Beretta to change which type of magazines the CX4 will accept. Also, Beretta makes a hicap 30 round 92 series magazine!

For me a perfect match has always been having a pistol, intermediate, and full size cartridge that all match what a military force is using (i.e. NATO cartridges: 9mm, 5.56 x 45, and 7.62 x 51)

.45 colt lever gun, Taurus Judge revolver, and a .410 pump shotgun with hunting and riot barrels. Add a semiauto carry pistol and a rifle that takes the same mags. That covers a broad spectrum of firearm types with just 3 calibers. A handloader would only have to stock .45 cal bullets if the carry pistol and rifle were also .45

I like the AR pistol and rifle combo. Not only sharing ammo and mags, but all parts as well. So for example a bcg swap would be quick and simple. Size is a factor, but with 7.5" barrels and lightweight hand guards they dont feel much heavier than a solid 1911.

You young guys that enlisted post 1998 or so got ragged-out M9/92FS. Those of us in the first wave (late 80's, early 90's) of the 92FS issue, we LOVED the 92FS. 17 rounds vs 7 rounds and more accurate with less drop in elevation over distance. Ours were also Italian made, not US made, so they just ran and were smooth as butter.

My perfect pair: scandium frame 357mag J frame and 1894 carbine 18" lever gun in 357mag. Snake/rat shot in first chamber of revolver, then a couple 38spcl, then a couple 357mag. 357mag filled up in the rifle. Can go from EDC (cruise walmart concealed) to my truck gun (kill a deer at 150 yards or defend myself at 150 to 200 yards).

Ruger had the PC9 and PC4, chambered in 9mm and 40S&W respectively. They used the same magazines as their P series requirements. the P89 with a PC9 was my personal favorite.

7 years late but it’s ok. I carried Ruger P9 & P85 on duty for several years. Also have Marlin Camp 9 / Smith 59 - Marlin Camp 45 / Colt 1911 - Kel-Tec Sub 2000 / Glock 17 - Marlin Lever 357mag : 38 spc / Colt Python - Winchester 9422M / S&W mod 48 - Ruger 10-22 - Intertec Tec 22 - Rem 870 in 410 / Taurus Judge - M1 Carbine / Ruger Blackhawk and too many more. Glad you mentioned the Vector, however I consider the 10mm to be the ultimate in terms of mobility, accuracy, and performance. Maybe a 10mm glock isn't ideal in terms of concealability and shootability for some people, but if you're going to get a Vector, you should seriously consider the 10mm. I am about to have mine professionally shortened into an SBR and I love the platform immensely.

Would there ever be a scenario where it would be acceptable to shoot someone 500 yards out? I can't think of a likely one. I like guns as much as the next person but talking like you may need to take someone out football fields away is preposterous.

I was definitely thinking the same thing. I really don't see why I would incorporate such a ridiculous setup unless I was just doing it for range purposes or the fact that it may be a little bit cheaper (i doubt it) magazine wise. I may just as well get a normal rifle or AR. O.o

Not outside of armed conflict there isn't. Your average police sharpshooter's shot is around 50yds, certainly under 100. If your weapon can reach out to 100, you're pretty much covered.

9:05 Ruger P89 or P95 both 9mm can use the same mag. The original Ruger PC rifle could accept these magazines. Great pairing.

Back in the day, it was common to cut a magazine off and rivet or braze it on to the bottom of another, then just stack the followers and springs, to make extended capacity magazines.

Ruger produced the PC9 (9mm) and the PC4 (40 S&W), they worked with the P95 series of pistols. I owned 3 and LOVED those carbines... this is until I learned that Ruger was “almost out of parts”... I sold them off quickly before the word got out while they were still worth more than what I paid for them.

Kel-Tec makes their PMR-30 and CMR-30 chambered in .22 Magnum and they use the same 30 round mags.
