Thanks Fritz! I was very happy to get one with the recurve!

Congratulations! Great shot. Been hunting traditional for over 30 years. The most satisfying form of hunting imo. More people should try it. I have a feeling a lot of wheel bows would be collecting dust on their bow racks..

It is had to beat the feeling of harvesting a deer with a recurve. It is very addicting. Thanks for watching!

It's a great feeling. I built 57 bows from June of 2017 until fall of 2019. Was a great chapter in my life, I've killed 2 buck and 8 does with longbows and recurves. In 2019 I missed a big ol black bear at 14 yards and hit a wide 8 point in the hind end the next morning. I was so disgusted. I had to realize that I owe it to the game I pursue to hunt them with a compound, where I can feel 100% confident instead of 95% confident.... Confidence is everything with shooting any type of gun or bow. I can shoot great on target, in fact a partner and I won the water bottle shoot at the June PA longbow Association shoot in 2020, at Marsh Hill, then I came in 2nd last year, but that's a different kind of pressure. Glad you had an entirely different outcome. Congratulations

It's been an up and down roller coaster since 2012 for me. I shoot my longbow all summer but I've been taking the compound when it comes season.

Didn’t realize you built trad bows, that is awesome! I would love to be able to. I’m not very handy and feel like it would be too much time to commitment. I do understand the ethics of using a compound. I could set a target up where the buck was standing and shoot and completely miss. I generally do some fun doe hunting around the house and my serious buck hunting with a compound. Just happened to have him come by on a doe hunting day.

Woohoo John!! That was awesome! Maybe even a blessing missing that doe, got you warmed up and a practice shot before the buck. Nice job 👍🏻

Missing the doe was definitely a good reminder to aim a little lower!! Nothing beats live practice haha.

Great job John! That doe really dropped on you, looked like a good shot to me. Perfect shot on the buck. Congrats! Two epic days in a row, bear then buck!

Excellent job, excellent kill and an excellent season! Hard enough killing deer in our area with modern equipment, which makes your kill that much sweeter! Well done and on to flintlock!

Thanks! Looking forward to flintlock, hopefully we can put a couple down.

Is that a galaxy bullseye riser? What draw weight? It's a beautiful bow. Congratulations on your harvest with a recurve.
@SufferingOutdoors Жыл бұрын
It is a galaxy sage riser, not sure if that is different than the bullseye rise. I have 45lbs limbs but I have a 31 inch draw length so i'm pulling more than that. Thanks!

What brand of bow is that? Great hunt !
@SufferingOutdoors8 ай бұрын
It is a Sammick Galaxy, decent bow but I would like to get a custom bow at some point when I feel like spending the cash.
