I'm polish and it pisses me of what she said about Auschwitz, it's another misinformation. Auschwitz museum is free (but you have to make reservation). You have to pay only if you want to go with guide (from museum) or you go with private tourist agency. It's not a place you go to have fun but a place you go to remember that we can't let it happen again. I think it's very important.

She is right that the Polish government is hugely problematic, though. I speak with a Polish person often about the terrible laws being passed there and the rise of fascist political parties. There are many lovely Polish people. It's the government that's bad. This is true about many countries, sadly. The fact that people have literally built homes where old buildings used to be at Auschwitz should be an indicator that the Polish government doesn't hugely care about the camp as much as it should. Again, talking about the government, not the Polish people themselves.

I really liked Jena's advice to the first caller. Taking a small issue, contextualizing with the bigger picture can make it easier to cope with and investigate. The caller didn't seem super receptive and wanted to just vent and dwell on the problem instead of dealing with it, which is fine but not great for an advice podcast. Their response kind of bummed me out so I wanted to say that I think you and Jena nailed it in this episode!
