I did not play football for too long, but Ive found myself got used to do the sidearmed passes lately. Only because I can hold the ball more horizontal when I release, and also better spiral. Indeed my elbow and front arm hurts, trying to fix that.

A lot of people teach to have your follow through in the opposite pocket. However whenever I try to do it it feels really forced. Finishing on the opposite inner thigh feels a lot more natural for me. Should I change my finish those 4-6 inches or keep it the same?

Lonzo Ball keep it the same. As long as you are not coming across you are good.

Performance Lab of California ok thanks. Just wondering why is the opposite pocket finish coached by people?

I think there is something wrong with my grip or release. I have a lot of arm strength and get good rotation but I pull my ball off to the right (I'm right handed) and it seems like the ball is slipping out or at least my release is wrong. I have pretty small hands. Any suggestions?

Probably need to watch my videos about the wrist flick and rotation with the hand while throwing.. That would be the best way to explain/understand it.

When I thrown a football my bicep and shoulder hurt do you know how to fix this
@Performancelabofcalifornia3 жыл бұрын
Yes I do but need to see your mechanics to make biggest change. A lot of times it has to do with tightness in the pec/wrist joint. Also, means you are coming around when you throw.

I only sidearm when I throw it deep do you have any specific help for that?
@NormEllison3 жыл бұрын
If you're completing your passes you don't need any help.

Ik I'm late, but I don' think it is really bad. QB's like Mahomes, Rodgers, Farve, and Stafford were all "slingers" which means they threw the ball sidearm.
@Performancelabofcalifornia4 жыл бұрын
They throw the ball side arm when throwing underneath around someone but not when throwing the ball 40 yards plus or when needing to thread the needle on a throw. I have done breakdowns on all of them and 90% of the time they are not throwing side arm.

Performance Lab of California any drills I can do to work on that?
@Performancelabofcalifornia4 жыл бұрын
Cole Hoover yes there is a warm up drill in our top warm up drills for QBs video. The focus of the drill is to throw with the hand in a C
@NormEllison3 жыл бұрын
Total bullshit here. QBs throw sidearm all the time to great effectiveness. Throwing injuries happen when too much stress transfers to your joints instead of being handled by your muscles. You can use your muscles to throw from any position: Overhead (12 o'clock), sidearm (3 o'clock) or anything in-between. When I was a kid I threw deadly sidearm balls, especially out patterns. The balls fly fast, low and straight; They are easy to control and are hard to see and hard to knock down.

Situationally maybe throwing some sidearm passes are not bad. But long term especially on deeper throws are not good for your body 💯💯
