Have had mine for six years, often sits for days, love hatches for practical reasons the space in this car for its size it’s crazy! Go to the scrap yard, fill it fully except for drivers seat, people can’t believe it, was going to get a convertible but that trunk is not good at all, although it would have been great for tracks requiring helmets, oh well, overall the main reason for this car is because of a small garage , don’t really like parking outside so this allows freedom to go in and out to do things, no problem, plus after driving stick for many years in a traffic plagued city the six speed auto-was chosen to suit the lifestyle of its care giver, other than brakes and a few little things flawless so far

The reality is , fiat 500 is not for us road. Cuz US has big road. You can drive very well big size car , regular size car. But in the French sometimes is not possible. Because they have real really small road. You can use fiat 500 it , it is doing good job. For me , it is good car. It is very nice. If they can do a little taller on front drive size. Everythings will be fine. Thank you for your good video.

Don't be surprised if you regret selling it later. 😁 I bought an unmodded black 42K miles 2015 with 17 inch wheels, leather, sat radio and sunroof last summer for $8,900 USD. Love it! It now has 195/45R16 winter tires on steelies. Can't wait for lots of snow! Will probably switch from 205/40R17 to 205/45R16 summer tires once the almost-new tires that came with the car have finally worn out. Low profile tires are rough on my dental fillings. No comments that's it's "cute" yet, but I do see people smile towards it. Also no problems with me sitting in it, No problems with head clearance either. Passengers can walk if thy don't like it. Only real mechanical problems up to now were worn strut mounts and a broken driver's door handle. Will fix the handle this week, the mounts were fixed by the garage. The car was NOT abused by its first and only owner, so it should last me a long time. Preventative maintenance: new battery blanket, new headlight bulbs and oil change. I love changing the oil on this car! It feels like an accomplishment! 😁 Aftermarket mods done: Newspeed NEU-F torsion bar (great improvement), CravenSpeed short shifter (much easier to shift precisely), Eurocompulsion skid plate (poorly fitted, Eurocompulsion support's unresponsive). Mods to be done: Corsa Forza lower frame brace if they can help me with *properly* mounting the skid plate to it. Also planning to redo the suspension which is very rusty from five years of winter driving but still good for two more years when it'll need to be replaced anyway just from age. The new suspension will raise the car a little bit to better survive Canadian winter roads and eventually transform it into a rally car. I'll also eventually add Abarth side decals and red mirror covers, but that's not a high priority. Performance-wise, no changes except maybe a new intake just so it's easier to maintain the car without that huge plastic OEM cover in the way. I don't want to push this little engine any more than necessary. Time will tell if I can live with its mechanical quirks. I didn't buy this car without knowing of its negative reputation. But it's the only car I've ever found to be a lot of fun to drive, at least until Lada comes back to Canada and I buy one of their 4x4s! 😂

I feel like a lot of the negatives are positives for me. Or at least, they're not a concern. Like the "cuteness" with the unexpected sound is the exact reason why this car has such a cult following. Same thing with the shape and the seating position. If it was a normal looking car, with a normal seating position, it would still be nice, but it looses 90% of it's charm. It's like a motorcycle. Not practical, or comfortable whatsoever and many times not even stylish. The whole point is the sound, and the fun. It's about putting a smile on your face, and others when they see how ridiculous the car is. With that being said, I totally understand how you feel. I had a car that I absolutely loved, but unfortunate things happened, the car ended up being a pain in the ass for a while, and once things were sorted the pain lingered and I just couldn't fall back in love with it, so I sold it.

Wow, like you said kind of "sad" your 1st car is going away. Those Fiat 500 models will always be called "cute" cars, not something most car guys want, lol. Too bad never got a chance to race it with my Ford Taurus SHO. I too have heard some parts for those cars are extremely hard to get. Your Abarth model is very rare to find! Here in Minnesota, I really don't even see many regular Fiat 500 cars. With them all being so tiny/small, very tight or non-existent storage (unless rear seat is deleted), certainly not the most practical of small, micro cars + not too affordable to own as issues arise. Look forward to seeing your new RWD 400 horsepower ride!
@PerformanceOnWheels3 жыл бұрын
Your SHO would have beaten that 500 all day... I say we race when the new car makes it here😏

@@PerformanceOnWheels, sadly I don't have my 2010 Ford Taurus SHO anymore. Cylinder #5 went out, blew engine oil out the tailpipe. So disappointed as I loved the car, put a decent amount into it + had future plans for it too. I will likely "modify" my new ride, but it won't be nearly as fast as your upcoming 400+ "stock" horsepower RWD ride.

I mean as long as you don't beat the crap out of the car, you should be just fine however just know it will.be more expensive to fix than say a Fiesta ST and it will most likely be in the shop more than the average car. I would be willing to bet dollars to doughnuts that it would be pretty easy to lower the seat height in the car.

It's not very easy actually. You can get a fairly expensive aftermarket seat bracket. Than you have to get a fairly expensive adjustable steering column. Than you can barely see over the dash.

I dont understand why theres no Abarth Facelift for the US market. The Facelift Bumpers looks way more aggressive. Another point is the Multijet Engine for the US market,the Turbo Jet Engine for the European market has much less issues. Greetings from Germany

The T-Jet engine is pretty strong. It's supposedly race proven to 140k miles. Parts are hard to get in the UK too, even though they are quite common here and still made using mostly the same parts! Pretty much everything has to be shipped from Italy to order and often you can only buy complete units, not individual bushes etc. Luckily there are some aftermarket parts which are better.
