Does the bump on the nipple go down by itself or can the surgeon shave it off to make it flatter? How does it get flatter?
@genderconfirmationcenter6 жыл бұрын
Hi there, thank you for asking this question. When you say bump on the nipple could you clarify what you mean by that? Thank you
@kodizziak6 жыл бұрын
Like, the very middle of the nipple that sticks out the most.
@genderconfirmationcenter6 жыл бұрын
Ghost Zero Thank you for clarifying. So there’s the areola (the bigger circle that’s illustrated in this video) and then there’s the actual nipple (projected skin tissue I believe you’re referring to). At Dr. Mosser’s practice the patient can chose what they would like their nipples to look like. Usually they are shaved down with a scalpel to resemble a cis male nipple. Let me know if that answers your question!

If you had a small C cup, would you be able to get Periareolar. I did a simple back of the hand skin elasticity test and my skin was good. I was just wondering if a C cup was too big. I really, really, really, want no scars.
@genderconfirmationcenter4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking! That's a totally valid concern. It is possible that the Periareolar incision could be an option; however, the best way to know for sure would be to schedule a consultation with Dr. Mosser! The consultation (which can be cone virtually!!) allows you to discuss specific surgical goals & preferences, and Dr. Mosser can walk you through the procedures that would help achieve that. More information about the consultation process can be found here: www.genderconfirmation.com/contact-us/

Does keyhole get rid of the lymph nodes as well as the fat? I have a small chest with a high inframammary angle, but most of my chest tissue is definitely not fat and is almost cone-shaped.
@genderconfirmationcenter3 жыл бұрын
Hi there! None of the gender surgery breast removal procedures remove the lymph nodes in the armpit (axillary) area. It would be problematic for a patient if they were removed. If the chest is not fat and is more cone-shaped and "rubbery" then it is most likely breast tissue. Nearly all of the breast tissue is removed during the procedure. I hope that helps to provide some clarity!

so with my chest, it's uneven. the left side is bigger than the right and only the right qualifies for the peri. i know the answer is probably no but can i get peri on one side and double incision on the other? i feel like it would lessen my insecurities about having scars which i really wouldn't enjoy. having just one scar, even on my left side, i could say i had some kind of other surgery for it. would this be possible?

I had a peri-areolar surgery 3 months ago and altough my chest looks flat with an even contour, there's still a bit of puffiness on both sides that's noticeable from above - I can't tell if it's swelling or remaining tissue at this point. I guess my question is how long after this incision type can we expect to see the final result? And if we happen to need a minor revision, do we have to go through peri again or something else?
@genderconfirmationcenter3 жыл бұрын
Great questions, for your specific case, I’d recommend reaching out to your surgeon’s office and having a follow-up appointment to discuss. Hope you have a great day!

From your experience, what type of revision(s) is most common for those who have peri? In the video I can see that the puckering could be one of these areas? How would this be changed in a revision?
@genderconfirmationcenter2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for inquiring! Sometimes the periareolar scars can stretch a little wider due to the nature of the tension that is there. If a revision were to occur, we would just remove the skin that has stretched, and it should theoretically not stretch as much, as we have already removed most of the tissue beneath in the original surgery.

Hello, your videos are really educative thank you. I have a question, I went through this kind of operation and i was wondering why are we able to keep our nipples with minimal scarring, but cancer patients with a small chest can't benefit from these minimal scarring techniques ?
@genderconfirmationcenter2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for reaching out! Regarding cancer patients, the nipple is sometimes removed if there is a risk that the cancer involves the glands that lead to the nipple.

That's totally valid! During the consultation, our surgeons walk patients through all the variations possible of each procedure to find the procedure that feels most affirming to you. 💖
@nickweerdenburg27144 жыл бұрын
The buttonhole procedure leaves some tissue behind, so the areola won’t be detached, so it isn’t as flat as regular DI would be. I was wondering if that is also the case with this procedure, is there also some tissue left (or in other words, is regular DI ‘flatter’ than peri)?
@genderconfirmationcenter4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking this question! It is true that the Double Incision allows for the flattest chest. If you're between the two procedures, it would be helpful to discuss with your surgeon prior to surgery. Depending on your chest size, the periareolar technique might be able to achieve your desired outcome! You can compare surgery types on our website: www.genderconfirmation.com/surgery/

Hello, I'm 21 years old, I was on Testosterone since I was 18 (roughly 3 years) and had Peri 8 months ago - I'm in a difficult situation. 2 months ago I decided that I needed to detransition for various reasons and decided to stop HRT. I see conflicting evidence online and I'm wondering; Is there any chance of breast regrowth, even if it's minor? Will I be able to breastfeed once I have children? Even just a little bit? I'd be very sad to miss out on such an important bonding experience.
@genderconfirmationcenter4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for asking your question. This is extremely uncommon therefore we have little information to share that reflects this experience and hope we can provide something helpful - I invite you to explore our QnA resource regarding "Chest Feeding" after having a top-surgery procedure. For procedures that are not an Aggressive Breast Reduction or Inverted T/Buttonhole it is highly unlikely that one will be able to chest feed after a top-surgery procedure: www.genderconfirmation.com/blog/chestfeeding/
@knekki.4 жыл бұрын
@@genderconfirmationcenter Thank you for replying so quickly, I'll admit I was having a moment of weakness when I posted my comment. I'm detransitioning because I prefer to be more androgynous than 100% masculine, it's thankfully not a matter of regret, just readjusting my transition-results to better suit my identity. Not a lot of people talk about this but it is normal to have mixed feelings after top surgery aparrently. I read that on a trans forum last night, I wish I'd known sooner. The sacrifice is definitely worth the long-term mental health benefits but it's easy to forget that top surgery *is* an invasive procedure and that it takes time to process the fact that you've irreversibly removed something from your body that served a purpose and drastically altered your appearance at the same time. I love my results but I wish someone had told me that I would need to heal emotionally from surgery as well. I checked out the link, I think SNS+donor milk sounds like an excellent alternative for someone in my situation, baby gets the benefits of natural breastmilk and I don't have to miss out on such an important experience :) Thanks again for responding ☺️☀️

Based on your link, I've got somewhat of a middle chest (good for peri, probably not keyhole). This probably can't be answered without really looking but if I lose weight would that help at all or is what's in my chest (almost a year on t) mainly just the glandular tissue and is what it is until it's removed? And is there anything pre-surgery one could do about the glandular tissue?
@genderconfirmationcenter7 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew - testosterone can help. Ultimately surgery choice had a lot to do with skin elasticity, which is not always improved with weight loss / exercise, and might or might not improve as the breast tissue diminishes on testosterone.

@genderconfirmationcenter5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for reaching out with your question. It is obvious that you know the details about your chest shape and size well and that is wonderful that you are prepared with this informaiton before discussing which incision type is going to be best for you. The elasticity of your skin & the incision type that will deliver the results you are looking to achieve can only be determined between you and your experience surgeon. It is too difficult to share an answer with you without an opportunity for this interaction during a consultation. Does this help answer your question, and can I be helpful in sharing a link to setting up a free virtual consultation with Dr. Mosser?
