@1977TA
@1977TA Жыл бұрын
@@ComputerGeek1100 Michael J. Fox was still active in Hollywood during the time this footage was filmed. He was able to hide his Parkinson's symptoms and continued working for a number of years until the disease progressed to a level that made concealing the tremors and involuntary body movements difficult to mask. Basically, Parkinson's did not impact his career until he was forced to come forward in 1998 and reveal he had it. The ride footage was filmed shortly after production on BTTF prt 3 was finished which is why the town square back lot was still dressed to be future Hill Valley. According to the BTTF ride wikipedia article Fox was asked to reprise his role as Marty McFly which would have featured him working with Doc Brown as his assistant. Fox declined. This however is an unconfirmed claim. It is likely he was unavailable due to working on either Doc Hollywood or The Hard way, both films he starred in after BTTF prt 3.

The thing that can't be replicated, well very easily at home, is the motion control ride part. While motion control rides had existed before, this was on another scale. The immersiveness of the entire experience really sold the visuals. I rode this months after it opened in 1991. I remember riding BTTF & Star Tours at DisneyLand in this same vacation, and while that was good as well, it was not like this. This felt real, while Star Tours, you knew it was pure fantasy and just a story you were being walked through. BTTF the events felt like it could exist in reality. The only way to "break" the immersivness is if you purposely moved your head to look up and behind you, then you could see all the other 24 (?) ride cars moving around. Also the queue line really played a big part, not only with the video seen here, but the props and decorations. The long wait kept you entertained plenty along the way.

This was a real treat Peri. Being from the UK, and never being fortunate enough to travel to the US, I wouldn't have gotten to see this footage and in this kind of quality. Back to the Future is one of my favourite film series and I LOVE that this exists. Thank you as always for the fantastic retro content.

I’m 43 today, having grown up throughout the 80’s and 90’s. The Back to the Future trilogy has long been one of my absolute favorite series of movies. Definitely in my top 10-15. It was even one of a handful of movies that led me to get my degree in film and video production and choose it as a career. But this ride was always one of my absolute favorites of all time. I’ve lived in the Orlando area now for 25 years, and for nearly 20 of those I used to have a Universal annual pass. I can remember both the first time I rode this ride in the 90’s, as well as when it closed. I understand that tastes change, and a whole lot of kids today might not be very into BTTF. Although now with a lot of retro interest they may be again. But I still wish the ride was around. The Simpsons ride retrofit was just…stupid and awful. I’ve never disliked the Simpsons. In fact I was super into it throughout the 90’s. But just the same I don’t think it needs its own ride. At least not one in the shell of a purpose built building for the BTTF ride. I wish BTTF The Ride could be brought back. And it could with relative ease. Just replace a few facades, props, and paint and you’re all set. I’m sure there’s slightly more to it than that, but I still wish it. Can’t tell you how many times I was on this ride in its lifetime, but it was easily dozens and dozens. If not hundreds.

Well done on the upscale. I tried actually going to this when it was still open at Universal Studios Hollywood back in 1996, but the 2 days I was there, the first it was closed for repairs, and the second the line was WAY too long. It was our Senior field trip.

Man this brings back happy memories of my first vist to Universal Studios in LA back in the mid 90's . I'd queue for about an hour or so, go on the ride, exit it and go straight back to the queue and do it all again. If memory serves they also had the delorean on display outside the ride as well for photo opportunities. Awwww I'm feeling so nostalgic now after seeing this video and all the memories come flooding back. Many thanks

This is great! I haven’t seen the BTTF ride video in years. The sad thing is is that by the time the ride was getting old, the line wasn’t long enough to actually watch the queue video because you could walk straight to the vehicles. Also I remember the videos weren’t loud enough to overcome the crowd noise so we missed most of the story.

Artificially interpolating the footage to 60fps seems counter intuitive to what you're trying to achieve. Movies aren't video games, and unlike the latter, increasing the frame rate only makes the picture appear cheaper and more artificial.
