Monica, you are the absolute BEST at instructional videos!! You're easygoing, knowledgeable, have a wonderful speaking voice, completely thorough without being repetitive or just "filling time". You could do large seminars without batting an eye! Honestly, I really wish there were a "Monica Translation" of videos on all subjects!!! 🙂 I am going to make stainless tumblers and coffee cups for gifts for friends and family. I have been putting off getting started because all the other videos I have seen have left me unsure I got all the information or just left me confused. Now that I have found you, I am going to watch a few more of your videos and then get started. Thank you, thank you, thank you! ❤

Monica what is the LEAST amount of time a cup can be on the turner? I kinda had an Oopsy moment and had to take one cup off and put another on. I had to turn the one by hand for quite a while. I learned my lesson. I feel like maybe an hour but was wondering if you had anything similar happen?
@PeriodSixDesigns3 жыл бұрын
honestly that depends on the epoxy brand/type but i would say like 8 hours or i can grab it with my bare hand

Hi! I love this video, it has answered so many of my questions. One question I do have is where is the best place to allow your tumblers to cure? Inside or outside of the house?
@PeriodSixDesigns4 жыл бұрын
Somewhere that's well ventilated so if you have a room in your house where no one sleeps and can crack or a garage...but honestly sometimes I just leave mine on the kitchen counter

yeah Monica i used Amazing Clear Cast Resin and all was good well did have strong order, and Bubble were Meh, but Curing time is faster than I expected, no Stickiness, I just tried, "Let's Resin Epoxy Resin, and no order, bubble-free, but the curing time is horrible, one Letter I molded is still Harding, I thought my Ratio was off, I went back on Amazon Comment, and yes many had the same issues, with it being flexible, you know all had its Pro's and Con's, was to good to be true no order, no bubbles, so going Back Too Amazing Clear Cast, despite the order, like I said pros, and cons, I ben searching for a different brand, but mostly are same as the "Let's Resin" brand, but ty for the video, so yeah stick with Amazing Clear cast, going back to it my self.

I just want to start by saying Thank You for this video. I’m just starting literally, this week. I did a lot of research first. You are really good at explaining. 1 question I do have is if all I am doing is base coat a tumbler, and I put a couple photos with a water slide method, and a couple words with vinyl, and no glitter, how many coats of epoxy do I need to do? Is 1 coat enough if it looks good?

Thank you for all your videos, very informative. I am inspired to do my own glitter/ blinge Tumblers & try to buy a turner & do epoxy for myself and Xmas/ birthday gifts. The only thing is I will need to order vinyl decals on Etsy because I don’t have a criscut to do names

Do you also recommend sanding fine glitter or just chunky glitters ?
@tralalalisamom3 жыл бұрын
Sticky epoxy - is there a coating that you can put over it to "fix" it? Or should I just strip it and start over? A google search pulled up a couple of fixes - one was to re-resin over the sticky resin, and another was resin spray. Do you have any experience with either of these methods, and would you recommend them? I'm starting out with glitter pens then will graduate to cups eventually. Thanks for the video and information!

Hi, I applied my second layer of epoxy and sanded trying to smooth out some bumps. Do you have to make it completely smooth before adding the last layer? Which I hope will make it one flat layer… Also, I am using Dr.Crafty (3 days cure time) but will switch to the brand you are using. Thank you in advance.

Thanks! Great info :) I would LOVE to see a tutorial with the water bottle. I got over ambitious and tried it in my very first round of cups and failed miserably lol! It was very awkward to glitter and I hadn't gotten my glittering technique down yet :) (Bright side: it was very easy to strip lol!)

Why do I keep getting fussy things on my cups after I put epoxy is when I see them? I got the bigger box and it's taking longer to dry... I moved from the garage to the room and back to the garage because it's not drying like it was...

Can I only do one layer on my tumblers?
@sirrobotic54033 жыл бұрын
I am new to epoxying tumblers and I've only done 4 so far, but ALL of them end up with big fish eyes and dry spots/craters. I have tried every trick I've seen online to correct it (made sure I am mixing and measuring right, bought heater for room to control temp, let any paints dry for 48 hours before applying epoxy) every change I make and it still comes out the same. What else could be wrong?
@HS-lx9bu3 жыл бұрын
Hi. I made an art piece on a canvas. My metallic paints dried so I added blobs of epoxy to get glitter to stick and now it kind of looks ugly where the epoxy portions are glossy and there's glitter on it and the non-glossy paint without glitter. Is there an easy, non-destructive way to remove the epoxy?

That such a small amount so if you are even just a little off there isn't much room for error. Try mixing 20-30 of each side at one time and see if you get the same result

I have a powdered coated tumbler that I’m only putting one decal on it I had already added the decal to the cup can I put the epoxy then sand then epoxy again? I’m new to epoxy 😩

Yes, most people epoxy after the decal so no peeling occurs

I made my 1st glitter tumbler and thought I had a good 1:1 ratio. But after 24 hours it is still sticky. Should I add another layer and remix or try and remove it? Trying to preserve my glitter pattern
@PeriodSixDesigns3 жыл бұрын
so see if you can sand down the sticky layer before you recoat it....if you sand and it seems sticky all the way through, i would personally scrap it as it may never fully cure

@kathleendouglas31793 жыл бұрын
@@rebeccawilkinson8561 I’m pretty sure it’s because the high heat would reactivate the epoxy. 🤷♀️ I think so anyway.
