I had the drainage done today May 2020 at the ER. They had to do it 3 times and it what the most painful feeling I've felt in my life (I'm 35). I was crying.

They had to do it three times for me too! I’m happy to know you felt the same way, I was crying the whole time. I’m sorry you had to go through that!

@@OneManOnFire do I go to clinic or hospital?
@OneManOnFire3 жыл бұрын
@@worstgamer1162 Any ent Doctor office can drain it. But it's the weekend so you'll have to wait till Monday. Try a drop in emergency office but as a last resort the ER. Do NOT do this at home. Use some antiseptic mouthwash to help with the swelling but it won't cure it. Sadly you'll need to get it drained by a doctor

I've had this, felt very poorly and in lots of pain. Doctor injected antibiotics in my thigh a few times, apparently, before I felt any better. Swallowing anything was a huge nope and trying to lift my head up was impossible.

i was admitted with a quinsy early this year but mine was very unusual as i had my tonsils removed as a child during the 1960's. Although at first the Dr's surmised they had grown back AFTER two nasal endoscopic procedures they determined that they had not regrown and that my quinsy was in the space BELOW where my tonsils would have been if i had still had them rather then the more usual space to side of the tonsil.
Is it possible for a patient to have either without the pain or inflammation?

I had throat pain that started small but over six months or so it got very painful & quite swollen. I couldn't swallow or eat & my throat was closing. My problem was: I never had a fever so the doctors wouldn't give me antibiotics. By the end of the six months & 3 doctor visits, I was desperate & went to a specialist. She said I had a huge paratonsilar abcess. She gave me massive antibiotics. Upon my follow-up visit 3 weeks later the specialist knew she'd have to surgically remove it because antibiotics couldn't totally take care of the abscess. She did the surgery & she said the infection was pretty nasty but she got it out. Post surgery, the hole that was left in my throat was so big you could have put a golfball in it :●{ It was very painful for 2 or three months. Because my specialist cauterized the area to keep the bleeding minimal during surgery, all the tissue close to the cauterized area soon sloughed away & made the large surgical hole even larger! The specialist did a good job & It healed, but that was a long, painful, hellish experience!

I didn't need to be admitted. Drained the abscess in the office, sent home with antibiotics and told if it happened again, I would need to have my tonsils removed.

@@B-ch6uk I had mine drained last night at the ER and it wasn't fun. Did they give a cause as to why it happened other than what this video showed us?

@@OneManOnFire No he didn't say but I don't think it's uncommon either - at least he acted like he had done it often. It for sure was not fun and hopefully for me and you it won't happen again. Good luck.

why Quinsy affects the adults?
@pranay_cc5 жыл бұрын
Tonsils become atrophied in adults therefore crypta reaches the capsule easily transmitting oropharyngeal infection to peritonsillar space
