As a type 1 diabetic since 7, I can 100% relate to this video. I'm now 14 and still struggle with fitting in due to my genetic disease. At camps, I'm constantly pulled aside for finger pricks and insulin dosages, and it gets in the way a lot. But people are understanding, and have made accommodations for people like myself, and that really hits a spot in my heart.

I can understand how you feel. I have to go out of class 3 times a day for my tests. I've been diagnosed since year 1. Now I'm 9, and I'm used to it, but I still always feel jealous when my friends can eat sweets and I can't. I went to Cadbury World a couple weeks ago and on the way back everyone was trading sweets and I had to have insulin to have like, 2. I hope people can relate to feeling different like I sometimes do.

I'm currently 17 (diagnosed since 15) and switched to the Libre as my main source for measuring my Blood Sugar levels about a month ago and It's actually really good. I still finger-prick when I eat (to carb-count and such) but It definitely removes some of the stress from constantly pricking your finger to just swiping your phone across a patch on your arm. If you don't like (or get fed-up of pricking your fingers constantly) then I'd suggest looking into it.

I went to Type one diabetes camp as a kid and I loved it! We had so many fun activities and learned how to manage our diabetes and even all the counselors had diabetes too so being around SO many kids and adults like me made me feel normal and unashamed to check my blood sugar and take shots in public. It was a really important experience for me
@trudy_raibmon2 жыл бұрын
That’s so lucky! I personally had a really bad experience at diabetes camp. I was hiking with my cabin and they didn’t bring the glucagon and a kid passed out and had a seizure and… she didn’t make it back. She was 8 years old and she died because of a stupid irresponsible mistake by a 16 year old. It was honestly really traumatic and it haunts me to this day. I don’t think I could ever go back (also they were super bad at managing diabetes and I was 27.6 or something like that for the majority of the day).
@anaiyahluther2 жыл бұрын
@@trudy_raibmon I am so sorry to hear that. I can't believe they could be so irresponsible. I think at my camp typically each child had their own glucagon on hand even when we were doing strenuous activities like that and I always carry one with me when I'm out just in case. My parents, if asked which one of their 3 children is “the sick one,” it’d be be me. Back when I was young (Pre-K to kindergarten) I had frequent stomach viruses that came at the worst times, sometimes even during school. My mom remembers me having visible popped blood vessels in my eyes cause I threw up so much, and I remember the many times my mom brought my siblings to school with me still in the car, the nights I slept in the living room unable to sleep since I was both extremely thirsty and sick, and having to drink sprite since that wouldn’t make me throw up (causing my disdain for sprite later on.) It was awful, but thankfully I’ve grown out of that and now I rarely get sick (I say as I’m having bad allergies lately.)

Ive never had asthma, but when I was about seven I had this thing called “night terrors”. It was basically a mix of sleep walking/talking, sleep paralysis, insomnia because I was terrified of my dreams, and while I was having an episode I would uncontrollably vomit. It was hell for my parents, and my siblings thought I was possessed because it happened every night for 3 months. I don’t remember it happening more than three times but my dad has 50+ recordings saved on a hardrive from most of the nights that it happened. My mom still refuses to believe it was anything more than a stomach flu, but I have the mental scar to prove it.

Same, I feel you, eventually grew out of it but went on for maybe 8-10 years I had a mild episode of them coming back in my late teens but only for a few months and not nearly as bad, the absolute worst, that stuff really does scar you, I'm 28 now and I still remember so much of them, the sickness, the uncontrollable crying and shaking, the fear because I didn't know what was happening and being too scared to sleep, Even the bizarre dreams that made no sense when it was happening, It stays with you. Glasses do help both of us, but he’ll need that additional treatment to keep what vision he has.

I was born with Tetralogy of Fallot which is a heart defect. My childhood was okay, I didn't really understood why I had to see a cardiologist every 2 years, all I knew I was born with a hole in my heart. Now the last few years I been seeing her every year... Having an MRI, Pulmonary test, and exercise every year. I slowly started getting worst, I get out of breath easily, I don't have much energy and I get tons of chest pain that even pain medications can't stop. I learn I am gonna have to deal with this my whole life, I will need multiple surgeries for my whole life just so I can have a working valve. The complications are also not fun, knowing that I can get heart failure, heart disease, and all these no fun things SCARE me. But despite having a weak heart and having limitations now (Right now we are watching me for surgery, I might get it in the next few years) it wont stop me from doing what I want to do and work in medicine. Like yeah I'm gonna have good times and bad times, there may be times that I feel like there a 1000 pound brick just sitting on my chest slowly crushing me, I will most likely get expensive ass medical bills, and I may not live as long due to the complications I can get but I will make the most of out of it. I want to move to Japan and study medicine while having 2 cats name Peanut and Jelly and that is my goal in life.

Dude the ending was so disappointing. I haven’t read the manga but I’m guessing they continued the story after everyone except our three characters went to the human world. I really wanted to see their adventures and how they fixed the demon world, but instead we got a slide show that vaguely covered the things they did. I’m also kinda sad that Ray didn’t get more screen time near the ending of season 2, he’s an interesting character and would have loved to see more of Ray and Emma.

Excellent presentation, growing up I was never a fan of perfume or cologne. In my late 30's working in a remote camp after I had gone to sleep my roommate returned from out on the town with a lot of cologne on him. I woke early in the morning and took around 45 minutes to stumble outside half dressed, to hospital, blew about 150 (very red zone), treated until I got to about 450 (for me still yellow zone) and released (the nurses were what? no way!)... Well at healthy I bounce the needle off the end 😜. I became much more sensative to perfumes and colognes and other smelly products, luckily scent free workplace became a thing. Did end up in ER several times down around 300, bit of a pain convincing some doctors that it was a serious asthma attack and not emphazema.
