Hi Morag, lovely to get an insight int your home. About the refugee programmes, I am in contact with Dani Amani and wanted to make sure you support him. Thank you for all you do. Very inspiring. I am currently doing your Permaculture Design and Teaching course and hoping to make this my retirement career. all the best Emmanuelle

I totally enjoyed this video. Love to see that a food forest, permaculture garden can look overgrown, not perfect but beautiful and abundant.

And I’d like to thank YOU for taking us on this wander around your absolutely fabulous and super-inspiring place, dear Morag 🙏🏼🌿🌺🐓🙋‍♂️🌴 It was a few years ago I happened across one of your videos and kinda binge-watched quite a few 😅 You inspired me to utilise permaculture principles in our weedy property and it was a game-changer! No more having to attack the vege beds each year to prepare for planting! Newspaper as weedmat. OMG. Thank you for that one tip alone!!! Newspaper supplies are diminishing now, so here in NZ we have a company that makes recycled wool weed mats and ground cover 👍🏼 So, though it’s not free as newspapers are, it’s a fabulous replacement. I don’t know there were edible canna lilies! I’ll have to check if ours are and I’ll definitely be chopping and dropping them as well. Much love to you, Earth Mother Goddess 🧝🏼‍♀️🧚‍♀️🤗

Thanks for writing and sharing your success stories! I'm experiencing the same thing here with newspaper. I've been planning on doing another no-dig film sans newspaper. Most cannas are not edible, but you can see easily at the base of the stalk if they are swollen - these are the edible ones. Get them while they are young and not got shoots out of them

Thanks for the authentic view into your life.amd food systems . Enjoy being home . I suggest move the posts out further and think bigger with your shade structure.

Yes, that's the design idea. This is the temporary structure that the boys did as a homeschooling project and to see if we liked a structure there. And yes also to more shade! We have plans for same permanent shaded growing areas. All a work in progress

Or maybe your suggesting for the big area off the house - yes I was planning on canter levering the beams out across the whole pavement to the garden . More shade in summer around the house the better!!!

Always good to mock it up. I think when we find awkward angles in design that it can be resolved with scale also more shading will be required in our near futures

Thanks so much Morag. Absolutely beautiful. We are unschoolers in the Netherlands. We have a wonderfully abundant and diverse little permaculture fruit forest in our tiny Dutch front and back yard. My 150m2 allotment 15 minutes bikeride through the forest from where we live is also a food forest with lots of herbs, comfrey, flowering plants, leafy greens, a few annuals but mostly perennials, and lots of fruit trees and bushes. (I‘ve been leaning more and more towards a fruitarian diet, yum. 😊) My gardening design and style is very much inspired by what you have shared here on KZbin, thank you so much! I deeply appreciate it. Love Mimi

Hello Morag ~ Please do. Yes. yes, come visit, anytime. We are WAY up North and all the way West but what an amazing, like another glorious planet, these isles are. Huge, vast, sweeping beaches. and clear waters with the most stunning rock cliffs and mountains, covered in white sheep. I have only been here for Winter, so Spring will be a whole new world for me. So excited. Magnificent. Happy to see you and your family on your sweet videos. Thank you for all you do. Beautiful life you are growing there!,.... and everywhere with Permaculture. Seems so spontaneous, personal, and genuine, like a vid from a sibling. I had a couple of chuckles on this one. Thanks Morag nice tour. It is amazing how fast things can grow! life carries on with or without us! It would have been nice to see more of the background if I may be so bold as to critique.

Thanks for writing. I wanted to share just how amazing a permaculture garden is - because of the good design, of working with nature, use of locally adapted perennials and indigenous foods, of soil regeneration and water-harvesting gardens - it continues to thrive and flourish whether I am there or not.
