Hello there Clay. This comment is not about this video specifically, but rather a HUGE thank you for all that I have implemented into my swings for irons and driver that came directly from your advice. I may get a bit wordy, but here goes, lol. First of all, for those of you that may have just found Clays videos, just follow this guy to the letter of every bit of advice he tells you. Trust me when I tell you, Clay knows EXACTLY what he’s doing and it’s a damn gift that he’s sharing so much for free like this. Seriously. I’m a 58 year old guy that had to do some serious rebuilding of my game after a major surgery. I had a pretty solid game before that event, but I can say without question, I’m striking the ball with every club with more power and consistency that I’ve ever done in the past. Actually feels like I’m throwing darts out there and it’s just an amazingly satisfying feeling. Finally reached drives that periodically pass the 300 yard mark which is incredible. Your instructions suggesting to allow the right wrist to go into extension at the top of a long wide takeaway at the top of the back swing and the suggestion to try and feel that you are dragging the label of the left hand glove facing in the direction of the target were absolutely pivotal in the correction of my swing. The extra club face travel introduced by letting the right wrist move into extension COMPLETELY solved my timing issue in rotation during my downswing into release AND it put the club angle into a far more powerful whip posture. Incredible results. But that feeling of trying to drag the label of the glove facing forward through the downswing not only forced all my clubs to properly shallow at transition, in order to get that feeling correctly, you simply HAVE to bring the club through that inside slot and moving out to that straight release. Changed just about everything I felt in my swing and had me nailing dead straight shots one after the other with basically no real swing thoughts aside from a mental picture of how the club face will move through the ball. That’s it. Amazing. So, for everything I’ve learned from your videos, big thanks my man. I seriously appreciate that help and somehow I’ll find a way to really show that appreciation. Great stuff for sure. 👍🏻😎👍🏻 “Quick” edit, lol: A little before I implemented those two critical changes mentioned above, I actually developed my own little single leading arm swing drill that I swiped from what I felt from a suggestion in one of your other videos. I’ve tried single arm shots before, but never put any real weight to them so never any real intent. But as soon as I brought the club back paying more attention to feeling the dynamics of what the club was doing, I definitely felt the club want to drop behind me and just followed it around through my rotation as it dropped. That path just happens to be the exact downswing path that every swing coach/instructor specifies where it needs to travel. So I adapted a full progression regimen and probably hit 400 balls with only my left leading arm. That was without question the set up feel framework that made everything else make sense. Still completely mesmerized by these results. (Holy CRAP!!! That’s a LOT of words I laid down there!!! LMAO!!! 🤣🤣🤣)

This technique is actually remarkable. I watched this yesterday and tried it out last night at the range. By angling your club (worked brilliantly for my driver too) 45 degrees when you grip, and *then* positioning yourself for the shot, 1) it sets up your grip perfectly and 2) also sets up your stance so your swing is nice and natural/smooth. I found I could swing faster too without losing accuracy and my ball speed on drives got up to 140mph (a first for me), and my severe slice is now a subtle beautiful fade. My 5-wood, using the same technique, hits straight as an arrow now too.
