Your theory is correct. However, wouldn't it be easier to pass a marker though each leg and mark your holes on the concrete. Then move your tank out of the way and drill perpendicular holes where the marks are. Because you're drilling on an angle, when you install your anchors and bolts , you will not have the best surface contact. Especially if youre leaving a 16th inch gap between the nut and washer. Youll have a 16th of an inch on one side of the nut/washer and a larger gap closer to an 1/8th of an inch on the high side.

Good info! I used some 4”x4”x 1” thick conveyor belt I had laying around for isolater pads for my new 80 gallon ac! Works excellent! I used 5/8 redhead anchors drilled in my garage floor 2 3/4” deep per redhead instructions, and filled hole 2/3 with redhead epoxy! Then I set my anchors.They have holding strength of around 5,000 psi

Good video! Now I'm actually looking forward to mounting my compressor tomorrow!

FYI for those that buy Quincy. Quincy specifically states NOT to mount vertical their vertical compressors on isolation pads.

You need to insulate the hold down bolt also. Why did you drill the hole at an angle go or sideways? Why did you drill it sideways?

@AlchemistLair I noticed you have some piping from a tee below your pressure switch, allowing your safety relief and pressure gauge to be offset. Was there a reason you did it that way instead of using the ports in the pressure switch, that you have plugged with bolts? Seeing it inspired me to want to relocate my gauge, but I wanted to find out why you chose to do it the way you did before I proceed.

I know this is an older vid, but I need to do the same thing to my compressor. Thanks for the vid, brother!

The anchor bolt washer needs insulator under. It's also or it's gonna vibrate the hell out of the concrete
@jeffgoehring6308 Жыл бұрын
You need to insulate the bottom of the anchor flat flag and the top of the anchor leg. What would you what it's gonna vibrate? The s*** out of the concrete will pop and break apart. What if you don'translate on top of the anchor leg?
@AlchemistLair12 жыл бұрын
Definitely! I could even feel the vibrations of the compressor through the concrete floor before I mounted it on pads and that produced a lot of the noise that is gone.

Glad this video helped. I can't put Links in Posts or Post replies but if you go to the video description (make sure you click "show more" to see everything) I put both links there. The name of the company is TP Tools and Equipment out of Canfield, OH. The other link is the installation video by Campbell Hausfeld. Good Luck. Let me know how it turned out for you.

Good info. Definitely leave a gap at the top of the bolt.

What did you torque the nuts to on each foot! Mine are around 10 ft lbs per ac manual. Seems to hold fine so far.... Thanks!

Per the mfg instructions, you leave them loose.

What is the advantage of mounting a tank in place?
@AlchemistLair8 жыл бұрын
If you don't mount the air tank, the vibration from the motor will cause the tank to "walk" all over your shop. It is also a top heavy unit and could tip over and possibly do a lot of damage.
