This stuff is always so fascinating. Part Native American , we make sure someone is always with the body taking turns sleeping etc at the longhouse. And then the funeral you ALWAYS have food and send people off with a meal.. And then a year later we do the gravestone/ marker celebration at the grave. ♥️ a friend who just passed was native also, but in so-cal, and in his tribe they had a burning ceremony where they burned all his belongings ♥️
