Thank you very much for this video. I have seen a neurologist in an orthopedics doctor for 4 years and I've been trying to explain this to them and I have also asked them to check it and I also have popping now behind my knee on the side. This has been left to go so long that everything is shortened and I am now searching for new doctors because it seems like the ones I have just don't care. Everything you have explained is everything that I'm going through and why these doctors have not acknowledge this is beyond me other than trying to suck my insurance up. Thank you so much and thank you for making everything clear and understandable.

What a fabulous video, I really appreciate it. I have had this for over 4 months now with no sign of recovery. A nerve study showed it was where described in your video yet I am clueless to how I damaged it, I believe I just woke up with it? I initially thought my foot arch had collapsed so purchased new insoles then new shoes but it was still there. Had MRI scans on brain, spine, neck and all normal. Even had 16 blood tests done so neurologist eliminating genetic disorder and a whole host of other issues as I also have PTS (still awaiting results). As a result of hardly any walking as unable to do my job my legs muscles have wasted away as well as my core muscles hence I am unable to carry anything and have often suddenly buckled over. I have to consciously tense my abs when doing any walking even with a brace. Have lost over 6kg since it started. I have no hope and have lost a huge amount of fitness and definition. Thanks again Joel

I have drop foot on my right side, with numb toes. This foot is swollen during the day but the swelling goes down over night, to normal. When I press massager bellow the knee on peroneal nerve my lower leg feels like it is going to explode from stimulation. It feels like every nerve is hyped to the max. I had the nerve conductivity study done.....well, they tried to do it, but could not. My nerves are not behaving as expected. MRI of the head and spine didn't reveal anything. I guess it's the wheel chair for me now...

Thank you both very much! Can peroneal nerve is compressed in tunnel of this typically place? And what you think about exercises for nerve gliding for patients with peroneal tunnel syndrome? And one more question. In your opinion, why are acute trauma and compression not painful? It is strange for me, because I know that neuropathic pain must be in case of nerve fibres damage.
@OrthoEvalPal
@OrthoEvalPal 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the questions Sergey! Yes I would do nerve gliding but not right away. It is so easy to irritate the nerve early on but yes it could scar down and nerve gliding can help. As far as the nerve pain goes, I don't have the answer to that. Probably not a lot of sensory nerves near the central aspect of the nerve. More motor related.

Gloria sounds like me! I got foot drop after overstressing the arch in 2 incidents 6 months apart, and osteopaths and neurologists did the same scans as Gloria....same results. They scanned everything BUT the leg. So I saw a podiatrist, tweaked the inserts, got shoes that stabilised the foot, got a cane...you need to give the foot a tiny sideways shove as it lands, or you curve the foot too much and it hurts your back. Joined a gym and am getting strength back in the hip. Non functional big toe really messes up the system!
