I left Tehran in 1974 and came to the US to become an Engineer so I could build bridges for my country! Due to the revolution I was never able to go back and ended up having an American family and building bridges here in the US! I hope someday soon I'll be able to go back to my motherland where I left my heart and love so much! I miss the very kind and friendly people. Peace and love!

Damn. That is seriously rough, but I am happy that you found family here in the USA. Despite some of the issues we have had I can tell you that most people have the same point of view as me, America is a melting pot of different cultures and people. If somebody finds a life here, they are not a "foreigner".. they are simply American and they are my brother/sister. Glad to have you, and I hope you can visit Iran again someday.

As a Turk, I feel very sorry for my brothers and sisters living in Iran who want a secular system. I am a Turkmen Alawite. It is said that we migrated during the Seljuks (my family often says that our origins are from Khorosan). Although Alevism and Shiism have a lot in common, the repressive regime in Iran is very scary. No one in my family wears a headscarf. What I have seen from my elders is that no one's religious views should concern me and that I should treat everyone equally. I don't know why but I have a great love for Iran. Being westernized does not mean being corrupt and forgetting your traditions. It is a bigger shame to use religion for politics. I hope one day a savior like Ataturk will come to Iran and these difficult days will be over.

In 1975, as a USAF officer I was assigned to Iran. The Shah was building up the Iranian military. Due to the recent increase in oil prices he had plenty of money and he was buying all kinds of sophisticated military equipment. He lacked the capability to maintain and support this inventory. The U.S. entered into an agreement with Iran to provide this capability via a contract. I spent two years living and working in Tehran. It was an amazing experience. I left Iran in late 1977, just before the revolution broke out. Iran then went back hundreds of years.

Iran oh iran. Do you know how many ethnic groups and cultures is this olace made of. Tens of them literally. Such huge diversity because ita literally in the middle of the two wolrd :West East. Rusiia being east. Saudia arabia being half island. Iran is the bridge between the worlds. Having vast amount of resources, it always has been influenced by so many world powers. I see people trying to compare reza shah, who kept it one country while every one was trying to take a chunk of it, to the likes of ataturk whos people now claim our culture and history claiming our kings while they all considered themself iranian and chose persian language. Soviet union naming azerbaijan fakely just after our AZARBAIJAN which is literally located south of it just changing Word A to E so they claim it their own only to claim our azarbaijan theirs later on( all this happened after 1918) in such country we must perish one man and one man only. Reza shah who ruled with an iron fist not even his son was nearly comparable. Iran would be in 20 peices if it wasnt for that man.Which arab country had the guts to call our persian gulf arab? None. Off topic but educational i hope. PEACE

Interesting. --I also saw a fair number of girls from India obtaining nursing degrees there in Cebu city. I know nurses both from Cebu or from other countries, have had internships at Cebu Doctors Hospital or Chong Hua Hospital, both in the city, for example. There are also many areas right there in Cebu city that can use basic medical care, for example where people are basically living in squatters villages near the older bridge to Mactan Island. An additional point: One of the easiest ways to implement improvements are to offer education classes to those living with complex diseases, such as Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes mellitus, but these appear to be quite limited for the populace there & I do not know why this is. Perhaps Persian nurses in training training could implement such education. In addition, many medical teams do not appear to recognize that handling such a condition means thinking about how to reduce costs, without impacting care, which nurses could be taught so they could then teach patients to handle the condition more economically.

Iran was far from being modern. The images this video is showing only applied to a very small part of the population. The rest of the coutry was living in medieval age conditions. Iran's elite was extracting all the country's ressources for its own benefit and not investing this money into the country infrastructure and institutions. I am not saying that today's regime is better but there was a valid reason why the revolution of 70 was so popular: people wanted change and were in favor toward anything that look like change.

@@vincentm.9178 True, but imagine Iran befor Pahlavi In 1920, Iran had no Railway, electricity, roads, hospital, university, real army and was a real medival county. After 50 years, in 1970s, iran became a modern country in comparison to neighbor country. In fact iran GDP per Capita in 1976 was more than South Korea!! 3 times! Iran GDP per Capita in 2020 was one third of 1976! Inflation is above 50% and the value of the national currency has decreased by about 3,000 times compared to 1976! Bigest companies (car manufacturers, Home appliance and ...) of middle east, best airline in the world, most educated people in middle east, mor than 10% economy growth per year and... in just 50 years! Pahlavi was Iran reborn. But traditional Iranian society was not ready for these rapid changes. In general, religious people had a lot of power. The pace of change in Iran's political and social situation was not as fast as its economy. In addition, the industrial powers were dissatisfied with Iran's rise to power as an influential oil country. The Shah had effectively challenged the European and American economies by raising oil prices. As a result, the dissatisfaction of the fundamentalists in Iran and the cooperation of the world powers with them caused the fall of the Shah.

@@spartantroy3920 islamisation instead of revolution? Hahahaha 😂😂please, educate yourself! islamisation began in the 8th century by the Arabians, the shiite doctrine was proclaimed in the 16th century by Shah Isma'il which marked the actual beginning of todays Iran and its fully evolved religion. There was no 'islamisation' in 1979 :)

Iran really screwed up thinking Khomeni would be good for them vs the dictatorial rule the US put in place. In that respect, Afghanistan and Iran are definitely similar. However, I bet all the women in both countries were terrified. Men benefited, but definitely not women.

Truth about Persians : they are Hard working, successful and talented folks. Persians who left Iran and settled in India are called Parsis they are one of the finest civilians in India, they are chairing top CEO positions for lot of Indian companies like TATA group. Freddy Mercury is also a Parsi and we all know how talented he was. Though they are a minority in India they never create anarchy or claim false victimhood in India unlike other minorities.
