She had absolutely 0 respect for her mom’s authority and it’s probably because the mom never had strict rules for her unfortunately. It’s not the child’s fault, it’s the parents who are usually more concerned about being the cool parent or “rules are stupid and kids are going to sneak out anyway” type of people. The lack of boundaries and regard for rules unfortunately placed the child in a very dangerous situation. Kids are not very knowledgeable of how evilness works, how the monsters are creeping outside any where and for their safety is best to never trust being safe outside after sneaking out. You can’t trust your child to have streets smarts. And we definitely can’t control how many psychopaths are out walking around us, but we can control the safety of our children in our home.

Wearing anything doesn’t give anyone the right to do evil. I agree that it’s distasteful to dress a certain way but a lot of women tried it like she did when we were her age. This becomes a bigger deal when the parents don’t make sure they’re children are dressing appropriately. There was no need to crop it order to see her face. All the uncropped photos you can clearly see her face. I agree a sicko is a sicko but as a parent of a twelve year old child or any other for that matter, one would hope they would at least try to avoid something by covering the child, especially a twelve year old. Having a boyfriend and cell phone at the age of 12 and talking to them at midnight, well, it was just a mixture of things for me. These days and times, parents IMHO, need to keep a closer watch on their children and their activities. Hopefully other parents will take notice of this and what CAN happen and change some things in their households if need be. Sadly, a tragedy such as this becomes a wake up call for many.

IMHO, this 12 year old was JUST old enough to understand wearing a shirt like this made her look cool and even sexy but did not fully understand the dangers of it. THAT, IMHO, is where the parents should have been in play to make sure the child did not wear something that might bring attention to the child from unwanted attention. I assume since the media cropped this photo to not show it, they felt the same way. THAT was my main point here, the media cropped the photo so you could not see how she was dressed.
