@@meepmeep2706 That’s just the gimmick for the Legacy line. He’s “energon infused”. I don’t know if clear plastic is cheaper to make or not, but he is a fully transforming and full articulated figure. Both him and blaster are up to snuff with the rest of kingdom in terms of quality too.

I’m gonna say my Ravage doesn’t have most the problems you talk about, the feet don’t pop off, the guns stay in place, and the back legs aren’t that tight and that makes it a lot better to use with Soundwave.

There's still something very appealing to me about the Soundwave and Ravage SS duo, even if Soundwave turns into nothing and ravage folds up like he's playing hide and seek. All I ever really wanted was a good-looking Soundwave and ravage for my display, I understand that takes away from the point of being a transformer, but still. Objectively, Ravage doesn't look very good, but I'd still want this over the Shockwave, which I have 0 interest in. Also, I'm unclear if your Soundwave or Ravage just have qc issues, because I haven't seen a reviewer complain about the chest yet

Thanks for making this. They just showed up in NZ at $22 a piece and as a Legends enthusiast I almost always grab every Core Class mold, so knowing that this is a glorified accessory pack for a Soundwave I'll never buy in addition to having a crappy transformation I can save myself $22 that I can use to get better Core figures in later waves.

Thanks for this video. At about $8, back then you can get a two pack of G1 cassettes. Ravage that came with Universe Hound was an "upgrade", but missing the missiles. This Ravage may probably sit on my desk at the office.

I think an easy fix to the "gain accuracy for less accuracy" thing would be to just include another shoulder cannon with Soundwave. That was his alt mode isn't asymmetrical AND you can have all your accuracy at the same time.

I had a similar problem with my ravages feet, the best thing to do is move the back legs around until the front feet have more clearance

3:38 I can *sort of* defend this, since the usual lore of Transformers nowadays dictates that Bumblebee is usually forged during the war, while everyone else predates the war. If the movie goes down that path, then the name is sort of explained, as it's just the name of the chassis model. But if the movie doesn't go down that path, your completely right that it's stupid.

@@TheDaxter11 we can do nothing but theorize about this. This is the type of thing that won't be answered no matter how much we ask. Not even G1 explained this, but my best guess is that Cliffjumper predates Bee in the movie, given that he is a lieutenant of the Autobots before being killed, while Bumblebee is still just a scout. You'd assume that two bots with the exact same built would have the same role, but no. You do have a point, my theory is flawed and is only minor speculation. But that's the fun of plot holes, you can fill in the blanks yourself, even if you shouldn't have to.

I've never had any of these issues with my copy, except maybe the feet popping off when I transformed it the first couple times. But i do think Hasbro really could've stood to give us more with this. I checked the whole of the box and asked myself "thats it? Just some accessories and ravage?" The new boxes are also awful for the core class. Not even a day after one of my Walmarts restocked and there was already a box or two that had ravage stolen from the packaging.

Hey, there is a fix to get Ravage to sit in Soundwave better. Go to the back panel and unscrew the faux cockpit and remove it. WARNING: don’t do it if you are planning to still transform the thing and the cockpit is also pegged in with small clear pegs so you’ll have to stick a screwdriver in there or something and just be careful because again clear pegs. It clears up a good bit of space in there

This core class BB movie Ravage looks screen accurate to his Bumblebee movie appearance. The little missile weapon reassembling Soundwave's G1 toy accessory is cool, but makes he wish Soundwave had the other blue blaster for this missile to peg into. For accurately since that's how it looks from the G1 toy. As it being on the shoulder cannon, looks off and too long. Like the cube box mode for Ravage. It may just your unlucky copy, but hope Ravage not fitting in Soundwave's chest, isn't an issue for everyone. To me, he looks cool. The only thing I wish for Ravage to be, is package in with BB movie Soundwave. -I also like the ROTF Ravage design.

I'll give you that it wasn't supposed to open unintentionally. I just know some toys if you push something in that doesn't have an eject button to push out will instead make it so you have a panel or a flap to push the item back out of the toy. I wasn't sure if that was the idea or not.

I was lucky enough to find this guy and shockwave At a Walmart. The ravage is OK he feels very padded with accessories to make up for his size, the shockwave on the other hand is probably the highlight so far for me if you see one of those in the wild I would recommend picking it up it does have a little parts forming with its gun turning into the cannon on the Tank mode but for a figure that’s $10 it does the job well

They said once he gets to Earth, he’ll have a more cat-like appearance.

Seeing as Studio Series is meant to give us film accurate versions of the characters we see in the movies you’d feel like Hasbro would’ve made Shockwave either a voyager or leader class figure, it makes the most sense. Core class should really be for the smaller Transformers we see in the movies such as Reedman and Scorponok.

So the reason ravage doesn’t fit in soundwaves chest is because the head isn’t pushed in enough in his little box mode. His nose should be below the tip of his tail. That’s what I did.

They're selling this guy and Shockwave for CAN$4 at Dollarama now. I picked up one of each and I like this figure. The design is great and the articulation is decent (certainly better than Siege Ravage's.) I transformed him once more or less to say that I did but I doubt I'll do it again since I don't have the Soundwave he fits in. Still, as just a Ravage action figure, it's pretty good. For $4.

Ravage is so tight in the chest because I'm 90% sure you didn't click the head into place, I personally keep the missile on the shoulder cannon, I think the ball joints are so the let's can clear those micro pegs for the front legs, I keep the back legs bent, and finally, I think the hole back popping open problem might be because of those slightly spread front ankles. I have the same problem too. In a different breath though, if you transform ravage correctly and have him in soundwave ship mode, you can have it work like a drop ship when you press the button. Despite his size, I've definitely gotten more than enough fun out of this figure for it to be worth the price

Between the imminently pilferable box, the qc foibles and other choices both made and doubled down, are we sure some team lead at Hasbro doesn't just have it out for the IP, some of this feels less like negligence or prideful blindside and a bit more like active sabotage. The Studio deluxes we're getting for both Bee and 86 are looking good at least. Still, it is curious some of the choices made. I'll admit currently I'm more interested in the Studio Series deluxes than anything in the Legacy line thusfar. Though I am impressed that the transformations on the ones I've seen have been more involved than I would have guessed.

I think there's always some variation that's hard to control with plastic. I have the Weijiang Optimus Prime that you have, and mine couldn't transform due to two of the tabs being too long. I had to file them down first. To my knowledge, no one else has had such issues. Sometimes these things just happen.

My Bumblebee movie Starscream has a random blue line going across the tip of his left wing. _Thankfully_ its on the side that's facing back on both robot and vehicle mode, but I haven't seen anyone else with that issue.

I got my deformation space thundercracker yesterday and I really happy with it. The I choose thundercracker over screamer is because 1 sky/baby blue is my favorite color(Sue me) and 2 I love idw tc regardless so you know, any I just wanted to say thanks for the recommendation

So, I got a question for you-not pertaining to the video. What is the worst pricing you have seen for a Transformers figure being sold in-store. I had went to a mall about two weeks back to see if they might have Generation’s selects Transmutate-which I eventually got from eBay; it’s a fun figure-but I ended up finally finding Kingdom Galvatron and SS 86 Slug in the toy store that was in that mall. But when I tried to get the Galvatron, I found out that that specific toy store was selling Leader Class figures for about $72. It’s practically highway robbery when every other place sells them for about $55-tax included. What was even more dickish about it was that they didn’t have the price tags on the shelves where they kept the Transformers figures, so you had to scan them at the counter first just to know how much they cost. I finally found a place that has two figures I haven’t yet to see in any other store, and they’re twenty bucks more than for what they should be selling as. It might make sense if these were retired figures, but they’re not. Galvatron is still relatively new, and Slug is even newer.

I've never actually seen a Store Bought copy sell for higher than the intended price. I've seen like 20 dollar figures go for 280 on ebay, so that's like the worst I've ever seen, but not at an actual store. And yeah that store does sound like a big bag of dicks.

Great review. It’s a shame that the transformation is such a dog’s breakfast and that ravage doesn’t fit properly in soundwave. I’d say it’s a qc issue if it wasn’t for the fact that the wfc frenzy, rumble, wingthing and ratbat don’t fit siege/er soundwave. I’m also worried that Hasbro is testing the water to see if they can release the “tapes” in single packs rather than two packs… I’m now expecting a what’s the best ravage (that you own)!

Okay hold up, I get that transformers, transform to be something else, but in an evolutionary standpoint the minicon ravage has a symbiotic relationship with soundwave and that the mini cons are safe and possibly fed on or in the cybertronians body, so they wouldn't really need an aultmode unlike normal cybertronians, also in the movie ravage was just a causal box in general

They need an alt mode so they can fit in Soundwave’s chest, which is the gimmick that’s always been around for Soundwave and his mini-cons, except for in Bayverse. TFP has Laserbeak fold onto Soundwave’s chest, so that still kind of counts. Being able transform the mini-cons into tapes, those data disks from WFC/FOC, stealth bomber bombs, or in this case, a box, is all done so the mini-cons can go into Soundwave’s chest. Something Transformers fans have loved ever since the days of G1. Not to mention they need some form of alt-mode, otherwise they wouldn’t truly be Transformers.

Yes it's what he was supposed to be, but if he was cheaper, or posed better, or Transformed better, or came with more then this really wouldn't have been something to complain about. It was a dirty move to guarantee sales, 9 times out of 10 if you bought the movie soundwave it would compell you to buy ravage. I feel like the price wouldn't be as bad if they included soundwave's full gun. They could have just made another shoulder canon and poped it into the box.

there is actually a way to have ravage fit in soundwave you just need to put him in at a different angle. I can't really show a picture in these comments of course but I'm gonna try my best to explain it. ravage's sides of his alt mode need to touch the top and bottom of soundwave's chest cavity and the bottom of his altmode needs to be facing outward. If this is a bit confusing to you just let me know if I need to @ you on twitter with a pic of how he needs to go

Can't wait for it to arrive Anyways, it really sucks to hear all this. I'm still super curious how I'll feel about him when I get him in hand, though, because it does sound like there's some variation in if Ravage fits or not. Maybe I'll get lucky? Oh who am I kidding, I got two figures within a week of each other with parts on backwards. I do still really like how this guy looks, though, and am excited to see what he's like in person

Update! Both packages from Ryan are now in, and I've gotta say Ravage might be one of my favourite figures I've handled this year Like, I can totally understand why he's not for everyone, but he really scratches the weird itch I have for little robots that fold up into a cube. The only thing I wish he had was more outward movement at the shoulders/hips. I really frigging love how all his weapons store on him in cube mode as opposed to just being thrown to the side

I think Ravage is basically the only character who I prefer the Bayverse design of vs the rebooted movie universe. The only thing BB Ravage has better is having two eyes and a nose, but he's too dog like.
