@forpetesake20 I did blame MLB. I also think it's sad that he would take advantage when he knows he can use nit against them. Doesn't make him an allstar, it makes MLB desperate and and him selfish. Let me understand, you are saying Pete Alonso belongs in the ASG over Christian Walker?

I understand why Bryce Harper didn't want to do it. He's done it before but he's since had TJS and he's starting to age in his mid-30s so I understand not wanting to take that many full effort swings.

Do people care this much about the all-star game? I get that they have effect on contracts and such, and that they do kinda matter now, but I don't really care about the players in the game. I'll watch it, sure, but do I really care who got selected? Not really. Then again, I'm a Rays fan so I'm used to not seeing anyone in the all star game, but I can see why you might want to watch your guys to play as a fan of a different team. Good analysis though, enjoyed the vid.

@HotAirRaccoon I guess I wouldn't care if it wasn't so blatantly obvious and wrong it is. For specific players, those who are hall of fame potential, the allstar stat does matter and walker is coming to his later years. I just feel it's an injustice to him since he has carried the dbacks this year with ketel marte.

@mamalannightshyaman What does the Clubhouse have to do with this? This isn't insider information. Past years it has not taken this long to fill homerun derby slots. Let alone having players with the 92nd most homeruns enter the contest for the first time. Pete made his statements and MLB was desperate. Feel free to give some level of factual evidence that says otherwise. I'm not hating in the Mets, if you watch the whole video, you would know this. But Christian Walker was screwed over. Nothing I have stated relates to the Mets Clubhouse insight what-so-ever. This is an MLB marketing flaw.

@_pitaph_6392 I also call Luis Robert Jr, Ro-Burt, not Ro-Bear. I pronounce it how ever I feel. Doesn't change the fact that the HRD is still a bit sad this year. I'll still watch and enjoy. Maybe he will win! If so, awesome underdog and I'll day his name to whatever liking you prefer.

@thecrackedathlete-le4lm I mean he is having a great year but homwrun derby is odd. Scott was really good this year as well especially with Turner gone for most of the season.

He was selected as the Mets representative so even if it wasn’t him it wouldn’t have been walker it would’ve been lindor do your research next time bud

@dannypolanco9999 Wow, the ignorance is astounding. Francisco Lindor is ranked 7 in WAR ahead of Marte, Betts, Devers and McMahon. Only two players he falls behind is shohei and Elly. Mookoe Betts CANT EVEN PLAY. If there are 3 1st basemen selected, which their was, mookoe should have been selected as unavailable and Walker would take his deserving spot and lindor would fill the SS reserve... Bud I dont mind discussion but when you make dumb comments as if you know more and belittle me, you will be quickly corrected. Bud.

The MLB has turned itself into a political joke. Ever since the BLM on the mound during COVID and that whole Democrat election stealing thing....I refuse to even go to games. I miss baseball of old. And Pete Alonzo is a joke lol.
