And no, Bernie Sanders is not actually a socialist. But this country could benefit from realizing some of the advantages of systems in social democracies that work better. I worked for years in the pharmaceutical industry. Anyone who has more than a superficial understanding of healthcare knows that single-payer healthcare systems are far more cost-efficient than the crazy mess we have going on here. There are pharmaceutical companies stealing hundreds of millions of dollars from our government right now for drugs that do not work- I know because I’ve had them as clients and sat in on their meetings (of course there are many more that produce life-saving and valuable treatments). My point is, we’re the only country that wastes enormous amounts of taxpayer money on useless treatments. Instead of having a knee-jerk reaction that pure free market capitalism is always the best and anything social is the worst, let’s actually pay attention to reality some more and see what works.

You know, Mayor Pete definitely already has my vote but the more I watch and listen to Pete (and Chasten) the more I come to understand that, irrespective of his political fortunes, Pete and Chasten will be just fine in their lives together. It’s easy to see how in love and how contented in their lives they are. I can’t imagine that Pete approaches any pursuit worth his time and effort with less than complete dedication. If Pete doesn’t win the race he’s running, it won’t be because he did not give his all. Moreover, Pete is the only one who also articulates ‘how’ part of achieving his policy goals. Bernie? Yeah, I know what Bernie’s position is, for example, about healthcare. Everybody knows Bernie is for universal health care. But how???? that's the question.Actually, Pete has provided pathway to achieve the same goal, in the form of public option as a glide path. How about offshore tax haven issue? Pete has a specific taxation structure molded after inter-state tax appropriation. How about Supreme Court? He has a law review article ready for Supreme Court reform around the idea of 5 more judges appointed by court itself with unanimous consent. 5. I sense most of recent ‘no policy’ criticism is coming from Berniecrat, self-anointed ‘progressive’ purity nuts.
