Pete was supposed to host during the last three episodes of season 48 (last season), but that was also when the WGA (Writers Guild of America) went on strike, so season 48 ended with the Ana de Armas episode. What's worse is that we also lost out on Kieran Culkin coming back to host and Jennifer Coolidge hosting for the first time (unless Lorne is currently trying to find spaces for these two to host).

I’ve always had a soft spot for Pete. We both lost our dads as kids, we both have messed up minds, and we’ve both dealt with that in messed up ways.
