Awww - I hate reading comments when everyone is cutting on eachother from where we are from. Course if someone is ragging on Peter... all of us fans of his can go after them regardless of where they live! (smiles). You're right there is nothing wrong with being mainstream as long as you dont lose the integrity of the music. You watch the documentry on shotters nation and see what he says about you talk. He said he thought it would be a nice catchy chorus for people to sing along to. Thats just giving the people what you think they want. Bending to their will. sacrificing integrity. Shotters nation didnt come from the same place as down in albion, it was a much colder more generic album.

Actually to involve the audience would be more the criteria of an entertainer. Personally I feel he's something much more than the next NME soundalike wankstains on the zane lowe show. Albion came from a deep meaningful place with some fantastic verse and prose that would be equally at home in a hall of comparison for great writing. Shotters was tacked together, audience satisfying, chang loving nonsense.

Sure if someone sings about world issues it dosnt make them a good musician, although Neil young most definatly was. You like Nirvana? Neil Young invented grunge and was one of Kurt Cobains most cited innspirations. You like the libertines? Carl Barat introduced Pete Doherty to Nirvana to give their sound more aggro. But whatever. What some one like Neil Young is, is a good person, a person with a soul who puts meaning and feeling into defining music.

Bob Dylan sung about his childhood growing up with his grandma probably wishing he was black while murdering musical staples like R'n'B and folk.If youd read Dylans autobiography you'd see that his songs really dont mean jack.Who cares if he picked up an electric guitar?The Drifters had done it 20 years earlier,O what he should be praised?The first white folk musician(I use that word lightly)to pick up an electric while the black innovaters get some side note in a history journal?
