For those who dont know, this is the American version of Ghosts, the original British version you can find on BBC Iplayer and they have just concluded the program and recently filmed the last series (UK), As a Brit, Ghosts (UK) is one of my favorite series, and I have been watching it way before Ghosts (US) came out, i watched a few episodes of ghosts US and both series are so similar, of course some different characters but in the end i would still recommend trying Ghosts UK if you are American, (I just saw someone say why cant Americans just watch British TV for once and not make their own version 😂)

A big issue is that it's very hard for American to find a place to watch UK shows, and if they can find a place its expensive. Also, often UK shows wont give American networks the rights to be able to show it, or they don't think that americans will relate to it as much which means less views, so they change it so it is more American. That being said americans can watch Ghosts us on paramount plus and they have recently added the Ghosts UK seasons as well!

It’s not factual that one is better than the other. Saying that you prefer one over the other isn’t a bad opinion. It’s called preference. For me, I’m American, so CBS is what I prefer clearly, I prefer the characters and story telling. But it’s beyond that. CBS - NOT BBC - has gotten me through some tough times. CBS Ghosts has been one thing to always bring me joy even through darkness. It’s a show I can find comfort in. Sure the CBS version isn’t the original, but it’s not a 1 for 1 remake all the way through.

Haven't seen the US version. There are a lot of these clips that have convinced me to give it a shot at some point because it does look pretty good. I'm not the biggest fan of this one though 😅 This is a very in your face and dramatic recreation (slow motion and everything) of a short, sweet and understated scene in the UK version. I honestly wouldn't mind this direction so much if they did it with original characters and storylines but hey, I did hear it branches away from the original later on so I'll still be watching it one day. I don't expect anyone who is used to the US version to agree that the UK one is better, I think it just comes down to preference, but there's a huge part of me that wishes they'd just done a spinoff with an entirely original cast of characters and not American copies.

​@Rat-Jesus anyone who watched it knows the UK one was better. Better emotional beats. General better acting. US version wanted to sensationalised everything to make it more emotional. When a simple story could have done the same thing. Most of us don't have messed up lives. UK version showed that its not just people who have unresolved issues that lingered. Those who just couldn't let go for love, for worry etc also stayed.

Hi so I watched this a long time ago but if I recall correctly The show is about ghosts who are trapped on earth and the guy with the arrow in his neck is Pete who died and the woman is his wife that cheated on him with his best friend and then married him and they are holding a memorial for him many years after he died The woman coming out of the car is his daughter and she named her son after Pete

As far as adaptations go, this is one of the best. The characters are just boring/don't make sense to a UK audience. The same way the original House of Cards felt to me, despite obviously being excellent. There are also German, French, and Australian versions in the works.

It's not a language issue, it's a culture one. They do this to have better chances of succeeding as a product. Though they mostly localize the humor, the basic premise of the original show's mostly intact.
