I will say this, You can have a amazing staff but your staff is only as good as your boss. If your boss does not care about the company then the staff don't care about the company. If you as a boss don't say the right things to manipulate a positive outcome in your workforce then you leave it open for negative outcomes. The worst thing you can do to someone is take a job they love and worked their entire life and make them hate it through the actions of a single person who is in charge of them. That could happen many ways, Hiring inexperienced causes great pressure on the experienced to get them up to speed and some are just not right for the job so that time could be wasted time depending on the person. I knew i was done at my company when people i should still be training got promoted to positions they were not capable of doing. The way the company works is they will send random crews to a problem in hopes one of them will figure it out even when one or more crews on your company caused the problem. My Boss even admitted to me that i was the guy he trusted to do things right, i gave him 3 months noticed a week later of self termination. I knew i would be swamped with problems other crews create and my job was hard enough without people at my company making it harder. Civil engineering hurt my soul.

I was a federal law enforcement officer for 22 years and held a TS clearance. Whenever we had surgery planned etc, we had to notify our superiors, and while we were under anesthesia or other drugs, we had to have someone present who had the same security clearance in case we started rambling.

Being a Retired Health Care Provider, at first I was willing to give Austin the benefit of a declining condition as an excuse. He did pass the baton to his Deputy. Austin is #6 in line of Presidential Succession, and had a duty to report his chamging situation to the WH. Even activating his Deputy to act in his place, should have been communicated to the President (it doesn't matter that the President is a Demented Idiot). Yeah, Austin should resign. He showed an incredible lack of judgement. The Deputy should resign as well, for he/she/it showed an equally incredible lack of judgement. Three Days? Three Hours is unacceptable. This isn't an Administration. It's a Sh*rShow! Apologies, but I can't in good conscience cal it anything else. The "Adults" are not in charge. It's Romper Room at the WH.

As a veteran,The Uniform Code of Military Justice is PERFECTLY clear and THE last block in this case. There are more than AMPLE examples and exceptions to be found to govern the final decision on this matter. Pure and simple, the secretary of defense was by all definitions AWOL from his post no matter the reason or excuse given. If a boot camp private can be held accountable for actions under the UCMJ, then it stands to reason that the secretary of Defense , the sixth in line of succession to the president, is held to the SAME STANDARD as the boot camp private,PERIOD!!
