Pete, have you read the book of Romans? It’s answering all your questions. Jesus died as a propitiation for our sins, to fulfill what the Law could not do. Sin couldn’t be washed away, or covered, by anything we could do ever do. That’s what makes the good news, good news. When we become children of God we are not just associating that with creation but also the change and freedom that happens to us in our hearts and eternal lives. That’s where the joy comes from, it’s where eternal life comes from. The cross isn’t Jesus dying and we believe He died, it’s Jesus dying because He loved us and gave Himself for us to be set free to belong solely to God. God cannot look at sin and ignore it, so God is, according to Romans, just in condemning sin and our justifier so we need not fear the judgement of God on us, but instead can love Him.

This guy is so close yet so far away. It is a mistake to waste your inheritance but it is Not a mistake to love someone who messed up. They are loved. Need love and when they turn from their wickedness they get free:) because God is Their Father. If you do not accept Christ you can not become a son of God or daughter of God. It is a free will choice.
