I'm a little weary of one-size-fits-all tips like this. I'm 6'2" with disproportionately long lower legs compared to my femurs. I have an otherwise fairly proportionate frame, but deadlifting with such a narrow stance with toes forward with my build actually causes me to lose tightness, struggle to get my back straight, and lose tremendous power off the floor (the hardest part of the lift for me, the lockout has always been much easier comparatively). What works for Pete, a 6' guy with a long torso, long femurs, long arms, and short tibias won't work for everyone. He literally has an ideal body for deadlifting imo; he's tall enough to have a decent lever, but isn't hurt by the typical disproportionate leg length that taller lifters usually have. I've been able to fix some issues with my lift by actually widening my stance, pointing my toes out a little more, and widening my grip, otherwise I feel like I'm stiff-leg deadlifting the bar off the ground.

Go by feel it also depends on your bodys structure, don't ask me why but nick should not be pulling conventional at all, he has short legs and short arms, he should be pulling sumo, that's where he will excel at not conventional. I have long legs and long arms, that's best for conventional. As for feet position if your doing conventional I have mine very close probably a foot apart or closer

It's amazing how much a little tweak can make such a huge difference.
@dylanbergfitness2971
@dylanbergfitness2971 8 жыл бұрын
The little tweaks wont make any difference to nicks deadlift. The reason being is nicks deadlift is already at 550lbs or so, he could do all the tweaks he wants, but at the end of the day, him pulling more weight is going to be determined by how much stronger his other muscles get and how much more explosive he can become. His form is good, doing a little tweak will help give him 5lbs or so and help prevent injury(maybe) but a huge difference absolutely not man
@hardcorebarbell
@hardcorebarbell 8 жыл бұрын
+Dylan Berg Fitness I love you KZbin comment warrior know-it-alls with Phd's in google. Studied hard at bb.com academy and researched on simply shredded, anabolicminds, and livestrong. Take a step back bro with the unsolicited unwanted commentary. You know what a little tweak is??? Changing from double over hand grip to mixed!! That's a "little tweak". Simply turning a hand? Oh that's a huge tweak? Well why does it yield such an extreme difference? I've heard Pete say his double over-hand is only in the 500's yet mixed no straps is in the 800's. You're point almost applied with certainly, but in terms of specifying small changes and huge differences.. You're incredibly wrong on grip internet expert lmfao.

@dylanbergfitness2971
@dylanbergfitness2971 8 жыл бұрын
wider grip is worst for improving your deadlift, pete just wanted nicks grip to be wider, because nicks hands were on the knurling, when your hands aren't on the knurling you lose grip strength, etc. So ya pete was just getting nicks hands on the knurling, most people, actually 99% of people out there alreay do this, so please don't go any wider

+Dylan Berg Fitness no I grip the bar with only one finger on it. I have always kept my arms as close to my body as I could. even tho I grip on the smooth part I have not exceed my level of grip yet but in time it could become a problem. I will try going a bit wider to get my fully hand on the knurling and see how it feels.
@dylanbergfitness2971
@dylanbergfitness2971 8 жыл бұрын
John Miller.ya gotta have hands as close as possible to body while still have your whole hand on the knurling.When weights get really heavy than this will become a problem for grip. But ya good luck to u man,any chance u would wanna sub to my channel?

You're waaaaay to horny bro. Seriously lay off the heavy stims everyday. That much caffenine can actually make you miserably horny. A day of caffenine overload vs none, is night and day. You're way too wound up and twisted up inside feening and freaking out. Go Pianna or Rubish somewhere and just lift and lift. You'll get tired. Dude get some fucking sleep, always blowin up comments. Brain rot. Take a deep breath and go outside, look up at the sky. Yes you are literally missing the entire world because you're waaaaay to horny and insane online. Figure out what it's like to relax for once. Damn that's a challenge for you huh.
