Peter Allen "Ain't I Somethin" Live NYC 1984

A rare recording of Peter Allen singing an early version of "Ain't I Somethin" at Carnegie Hall in 1984. "Ain't I Somethin" was originally going to be used in Bob Fosse's Broadway musical Big Deal, but Fosse decided to use songs from the 1920s and 1930s instead. So, Peter planned to use the song for his Broadway musical, Legs Diamond. Unfortunately, the song was cut from Legs Diamond during the previews and was replaced with “When I Get My Name in Lights”.
This song is for Paul D., who should be in the Guinness World Records as the tallest professional magician! I wanted to dedicate this song to you since your friend Peter mentions the world magic in its lyrics and to thank you for all your magical contributions to the Facebook page.

THANK YOU Jessica for dedicating this song by Peter to me. Very sweet of you! I may be wrong, but I believe it's the only song in which Peter mentions "MAGIC". And of course, we was the pure definition of the word. The photo seen here is on the cover of the program, which I still have, from the first time I ever saw Peter. Thank you for all you do to honor Peter, and to keep his Music and Magic alive!!

YES!!!! I knew there was one other song with the word, but couldn't think of it for some reason. Yes, Interesting Changes - a very good song never recorded on a studio album. Thanks for reminding me of the song.🎶👍😃
