Nobody does Rio like Peter...Peter Allen was incredible in concert and one of the greatest live in concert performers ever...I know as luckily living in LA Peter performed here all through the 70's-80's and I went many times...Bravo Peter~you are missed!!!

Incredible Entertainer, we were fortunate enough to have seen his show in The City (SF) three times. I was absolutely exhausted after each of his performances. His High Energy Level spread out to the audience. This Beautiful Man has been Resting In Eternal Peace with his partner since 1992..

Always loved this song. Uplifting, fun, exuberant! I always want to get up and dance from the opening tune! Saw him live once in Sydney, quite brilliant. I recently travelled via the country town of Tenterfield, a beautiful place, and sang his beautiful song, Tenterfield Saddler, in my car driving through. I met him once, in the foyer of a nightclub in Aspen (Tippler Inn I think it was called), anyway, he was at the cloak counter checking in, my friend and I were just leaving and as luck would have it, we three were the only people in the foyer. He heard our Aussie accents and came over and had a nice chat with us. Really lovely guy and he did Australia proud. Rip Peter.

I was at the Australia v Iraq World Cup Qualifying match. As soon as full time whistle blew and cheers went up, 'I Go to Rio' blasted over the PA System in the stadium and I automatically went into an attempt at Samba dancing. What a buzz that was!

Peter Allen was a great preformer and di not fall into any particular sound. He was a true original and will be missed by all. I still listen to his original cassettes from so long ago. My God, I remember watching this video on TV back at 6:55am every morning on a black and white TV. It was scheduled between The Thunderbirds and The Super Flying Fun Show on TCN9 with Miss Marilyn and Marty and Emu! Scary Scary Scary. That must have been 1975 or 1976! This is a far superior song to dance to than Coldplay's "...Waterfall." If you can get a digital download or off a CD try playing it and see the reaction. I remember hearing it around the Greek islands and it had a feelgood effect that made everyone want to get up and party. It's a classic!
