Richie was 100% in the right in terms of the mafia underworld. Beansie used Richie money to open his 🍕 stores. As soon as Richie got out, Beansie should’ve given Richie some money on a weekly business but instead he kicks up to Tony. The thing about season 2 is that Tony deliberately blocks Richie from gaining any power in the family. Jackie Sr was so well beloved that Tony couldn’t allow another Aprile ascend to power while he was street boss. Richie’s setback was not able to convince the Barrese crew to back him, which is the largest in the family. Of course Larry wouldn’t turn on Tony but Richie didn’t know that.

Beansie was under Tony's "protection" as far as Tony told Richie to stop and then to build a ramp for him and Richie said to screw off, he had seniority over them and as a made guy they were obligated to side with him over a civilian. It would have eventually gotten Richie killed had he continued but in the interim there was nothing Tony or Beansie could do if Richie wouldn't respect what he was being ordered to do.

I absolutely hated Ritchie. He was a scumbag. And, although Tony laid it out regarding the Beansie situation. He neither truly protected him, nor dealt out any real consequences for what he did to poor Beansie. Additionally, it was so satisfying when Janice took care of him! Probably the most hated character in the series, IMO. And Ralphie was a close second. 😑

I can understand Richie anger and resentment towards Tony shouldve protected Beansie from Richie until Richie and Beansie could come to an agreement. Richie did give Beansie the money he needed to open and start his businesses. The least Beansie could do was to pay Richie royalties every week.
